Stuttering and Microstuttering in FSX

Featured Replies

It has been mentioned in another post the issue with the stuttering. My performance after adjusting the sliders is acceptable in regard FPS but noticeble stuttering at intervals even when flying straight level and looking to either side and when banking/turning.The stutters sometimes are very fine ones or microstutters. Tried changing the setting in the video card, the Bufferpools tweak as well as all the other tweaks found in the forums without positive results. Any of you guys have similar problems or suggestions? I noticed some "microstutters" when I was trying to find the right settings in FSX for my hardware - this usually happened when the settings went up, which to me seemed like a sign of the computer running out of steam. When I don't try to push the settings too high FSX is very smooth. "Too high" is a relative term of course, so I can't really say what settings would work for you. To see if you're also suffering from this problem you might want to try turning everything to low and verifying that the stutters are gone. Also make sure that you're not actively running any other programs in the background.

Just curious what your global texture is set at? At least in FS9, dropping this down a notch or 2 eliminated my stutters.Ian.

Thank you for your input. I am going to lower all the sliders to minimum setting and then move them one at the time and see which one is the culprint in my system in regard to the stutters. Nevertheless, the FPS remain stable between 20-25 even with the mild stuttering mentioned. Carlos....

did you ever solve thos problem? as im experiencing the exact same thing!IanAMD AM2 x3800X1600XT 256MB Gddr31 GIG DDRII 667MHZ RAM

Seems that the Buffer PoolSize tweak mentioned by Brian at Aces helped some at 10000000 not 5000000. Still microstutters persist but less though. Probably will have to keep trying some more tweaks and settings. I am upgrading my sound card from a Audigy 2 ZS to a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional and see if at least helps with the stutters or not. Carlos
