[P3D5] "DXGI ERROR DEVICE HUNG" with an AMD card

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I saw there is a thread discussing this issue with a NVIDIA card, I check that thread and many suggestions provided are NVIDIA based.

I wonder if any AMD user is also suffering from this issue because I am. I'm not able to load into the sim.

You can see there is a glitch at a first look, nothing is showing in the aircraft profile.

This issue on an AMD card is even more severe than a NVIDIA. When the error dialog appears. It disabled the HDMI inputs so your screen will go death black then showing "HDMI NO SIGNAL". There is no way to get the monitor working again except rebooting the PC.

My Specs,

i5-8600, AMD RX580 8GB

Radeon Driver & Software: 20.2.2 Recommended by AMD

Windows 10 Home 1909

Prepar3D v5 with hotfix 1

I'm neither overclocking my CPU nor GPU. I use MSI Afterburner and RTSS for information overlay and limit frame rate at 30 fps.

Does anyone experience the same issue on the AMD card and please tell me if you have a workaround for this.

If you have the same issue we can also discuss it in this thread.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Cheers,

g
