Garmin G5000 Aircraft

Recommended Posts

The latest Feature Discovery Series on IFR mentioned a tasty bit of info. Between 3:17 and 3:30, Damien discusses Garmin instrumentation and says this:

"A large panel of instruments is represented on general aviation planes. From the Garmin 430 and 530 to the Garmin G3x, the G1000, 3000 and 5000"

We've seen the G1000 in the 172 and the Diamond, the G3x in the XCub, and the G3000 in the TBM 930. But the G5000 hasn't yet been showcased, as far as I'm aware. From a brief search these are aircraft that are either currently equipped or can be retrofitted with the G5000:

Citation Longitude, Sovereign+, Latitude, Citation X+, Excel/XLS+ (retrofit)

Learjet 70/75 (as of mid 2019)

Beechjet 400A/ Hawker 400XP (retrofit)

Could we see one of these beauties in FS2020? I can dream of the Citation X+ or Citation Longitude done to Asobo visual (and hopefully systems and audio) standards. Any thoughts welcome, and if I've overlooked something previously mentioned about the G5000, please let me know. Thanks all.

Btw, where is the Citaiton CJ4? The Collins ProLine 21 suite wasn't mentioned as one represented on GA planes. Hope the CJ4 didn't get the ax. Seems unlikely given that the plane is splattered all over their official website and social media platforms, but they may have run out of time to create a high-fidelity simulation of that complex avionics package, especially given that none of their other aircraft use PL21. And I don't think the CJ4 can be retrofitted with Garmin avionics. Hmm.....

Hey Greazer. Some additional reading on G5000 vs. the 3000 and 1000:

Very cool tech, especially after spending tons of time in a primitive C152 (slant uniform) and analog 172 doing my PPL. It's pretty amazing that Asobo is implementing synthetic vision in the G3000 and perhaps even more advanced features in the G5000.

I really hope for a decent Citation including realistic Avionics + FMC.

Well biz jet lovers - we get TWO. The CJ4 AND the Citation Longitude. Really hoping these are of excellent quality. I saw a very brief glance of the CJ4 cockpit in the pre-order launch trailer (at 1:14), and it looks spot on to the real deal. Didn't see the Longitude yet, though. Premium deluxe ordered 🙂

Hey Ryan. Not seeing the Longitude on the MSFS website. Would you mind pointing it out? I'm probably just blind. Thanks.

Nvm. Here it is. Wow.

I found a pic and it said official release but I'm on my mobile and i can't upload it right now.  It's just the fuselage and nose...there's no pic of the G5000.  I was only saying the real one has that avionics.

Did you try insider login?  It may be there.  Or one of the FS news sources.

Ok it was on thresholds main page I knew I wasn't going totally crazy
