October 20, 200619 yr Whe using FS9 I've had no problem raising my seat with SHIFT + ENTERand lowering it with SHIFT + Backspace. However in FSX these keys have no effect and landing is consequently difficult without always being able always see the runway approach. Is there a way to make activate these key commands?Cliff
October 20, 200619 yr As far as I can tell it only works in VC mode. Dont know why they changed it for the 2D panel. You will either need to use a joystick that can be programmed to pan in cockpit view or edit your aircraft panel.cfg file and reset the eye view which is more permanent. I forget the exact line where it is Bill
October 20, 200619 yr Moderator In FSX:2d Panel -Shift-Q (hold 2 seconds)Ctrl-Q (hold 2 seconds)3d VC -same as FS9 method Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
October 20, 200619 yr Thanks to both of you "Bills"...but how the heck did you know about the correct key combinations for the 2d panel?Cliff
October 20, 200619 yr >In FSX:>>2d Panel ->Shift-Q (hold 2 seconds)>Ctrl-Q (hold 2 seconds)>>3d VC ->same as FS9 methodBill While I got you here I tried that memstatus thing you mentioned somewhere and I notice it reports my ATI pro X700 256 as 512MB...do you know why? When I tried to find the sweet spot it maxed video at 38% with everything cranked up. I thought that somewhat low given the fact that MS is touting 512 cards..It reported the RAM ok and I can see where I did benefit from moving up to 2GB...did not help FPS much but must have helped load timesThanksBill

I have the exact same card and only "see" 497MB video. As I posted in the orginal and subesquent followup posts though, WinXP is "sharing" some of your system RAM with the video card, hence bumping up the numbers displayed in MemStatus.256MB Video RAM + 256MB Virtual Video RAM = 512MB available. Why this is important to know is that anytime your total video RAM usage exceeds - in your case - 50%, then you are really using "virtual video RAM" and the frame rates WILL drop appreciably!
