June 12, 20205 yr Hi all, I am getting these really annoying CTD's after and hour or 2 of flight in p3d v5. In the event viewer I have the below errors: Spoiler - System - Provider [ Name] Application Error - EventID 1000 [ Qualifiers] 0 Level 2 Task 100 Keywords 0x80000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2020-06-12T16:19:47.327811900Z EventRecordID 35872 Channel Application Computer RYZEN1700 Security - EventData GTN Simulator.exe 6.62.4.0 5ecfde0d atioglxx.dll 27.20.1017.1011 5ecc0a4b c0000005 010cccb2 3078 01d640c94f2b4b24 C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\Bin\GTN Simulator.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\u0355166.inf_amd64_b850e0f0c3bce936\B355483\atioglxx.dll 62f7bea8-d0b0-42a3-8f2e-6ab4481cd902 And: - System - Provider [ Name] Application Hang - EventID 1002 [ Qualifiers] 0 Level 2 Task 101 Keywords 0x80000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2020-06-12T16:21:16.060091200Z EventRecordID 35875 Channel Application Computer RYZEN1700 Security - EventData Prepar3D.exe 5.0.24.34874 32f8 01d640c834ec16d1 426 F:\Prepar3d V5\Prepar3D.exe d68bd1af-e4de-44a8-a605-e4332220085c Unknown 55006E006B006E006F0077006E0000000000 And: - System - Provider [ Name] Application Error - EventID 1000 [ Qualifiers] 0 Level 2 Task 100 Keywords 0x80000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2020-06-12T16:21:17.493591600Z EventRecordID 35876 Channel Application Computer RYZEN1700 Security - EventData GTN Simulator.exe 6.62.4.0 5ecfde0d atioglxx.dll 27.20.1017.1011 5ecc0a4b c0000005 023601ee 3208 01d640c9520458ba C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\Bin\GTN Simulator.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\u0355166.inf_amd64_b850e0f0c3bce936\B355483\atioglxx.dll 9600ef0d-cbc1-4922-85c8-a274a426f425 It seems the Garming is crashing an amd dll somehow? Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there any known work arounds? Like I said its all working fine for up to 2 hours usually, then all of a sudden p3d just locks up, even in low autogen areas with no ai. Thanks for any advice? 🤗 I should also say, I am using windows 10 Pro 1909 - P3DV5 - latest garmin installed and latest RXP installed. Also latest AMD driver, 20.5.1. June 12, 20205 yr Hi, 12 minutes ago, djbully said: 27.20.1017.1011 Is this the latest AMD driver version?
June 12, 20205 yr Author I have the latest driver installed yes, but it's known as 20.5.1. I Dont see that other number anywhere. June 12, 20205 yr It is a driver problem and this might be hard to find out exactly what is causing this. If this is happening only after a relatively long time (2H) it is most likely related to resource exhaustion, or overheat (which is something happening often too). There are other reports online which are also pointing toward a 3rd party program failing this driver version:https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/overwatch/t/overwatch-wont-launch-tried-everything/512486/9 Or even on professional CAD software with AMD drivers:https://community.amd.com/thread/196397 One thing you can try though is manually configuring the debug output as it is explained in the User's Manual Troubleshooting section. Edit the RealityXP.GTN.ini file in the aircraft folder and add the following under the [GTN_750_1] section (if you're using the GTN 750 #1 in this aircraft): DebugValue = 1 This will output any video driver debugging information the driver is willing to output into the rxpGtnSim.dll.log file. If there is an issue it might show up there and help us find out the root cause.
June 12, 20205 yr Author Thank you, I will do this and post back. June 13, 20205 yr Author Hi Jean Luc, well tonight yet again on the 2 hr mark the crash happened. There were 4 entries in the event log as below: And this is the output of the rxpGtnSim.dll.log file: 20/06/13 19:18:52.262 11500 - ] # rxpGtnSim64.dll version 2.5.26.0 20/06/13 19:18:52.261 11500 INFO ] 20/06/13 19:18:53.724 08268 INFO ] GTN 750.1 - TRAINER 6624 20/06/13 19:18:53.752 08268 WARN ] GTN 750.1 process is running as-admin 20/06/13 19:18:54.002 08268 INFO ] GTN 650.1 - TRAINER 6624 20/06/13 19:18:54.039 08268 WARN ] GTN 650.1 process is running as-admin 20/06/13 19:21:59.399 08268 INFO ] GFX Debug: enabled. 20/06/13 21:11:40.534 01180 INFO ] GTN 650.1 host application exited unexpectedly. 20/06/13 21:11:45.810 01180 INFO ] self-terminating orphaned GTN 650.1 Which does not look overly helpful. At the time I was making the journey CYYR to BGBW, Northern Canada to Greenland. There was very little traffic. The weather was calm and very few clouds around in my historical weather ASP3D. (No EA). So there was not really a lot going on flying over the ocean, my system was not stretched at all. 30 FPS locked and smooth. Such a shame to have these. Anyway, thanks for taking a look. 🙂 Cheers, Bully. June 14, 20205 yr Author Hi Jean Luc, I’m very happy to report that I have solved the issue! It was my somewhat clumsy install of the gauges into my aircraft (Just Flight PA28 Turbo Arrow IV). I had 5 gauges loaded in. The default selection of the install tool was to take over the default gps 500 unit, shift+1 in this aircraft. And also window 08 and 09, managed devices (or something). I wanted the VC ones aswell, so it was loading 5 units 3x750 and 2x650. Anyway, I reset the panel cfg, option 4 in the install tool, and deactivated RXP. I was able to do 4 hour flight! I took some time, and read the manual (RTFM!), then installed just default gps 500 and the 750 and 650 into the VC. So not using the managed ones. Like this I was able to complete a 3+ hour flight, so I think I have solved this issue. I’m so excited, I have everything running nicely now and this GTN is flipping AWESOME! Cheers, Bully. June 15, 20205 yr Hi, This is great news but this makes me wondering what it the underlying root cause and whether we can do anything to help. From the gauge standpoint, GTN gauge can support up to 5 instances of the same device in the same panel.cfg file, i.e. 5 windows/vcocpkit sections with a gauge##=rxpGTN!GTN_750_1 However I notice error 455 in your events list and this might be the visible side of an underlying problem making the GTN Simulator.exe process CTD. Here is more information you might want to read about this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/event-viewer-erro-esent-455-since-update-1903/624a2548-06e5-47f4-bb99-76d6412895a0 https://www.tenforums.com/windows-10-news/133041-known-resolved-issues-windows-10-may-2019-update-version-1903-a-2.html#post1638963
