June 14, 20205 yr Hi all, yesterday I filed a F-PLN with SID and STAR (I know, that in real the STAR during flight will be used mostly) and it was valid. Then I changed the STAR in P2A during a flight, but the F-PLN wasn't active any more after that and communication via speech recognition etc. wasn't possible any more, too. I filed the changed F-PLN during flight again in order to activate it. It seems to me, that communication wan't able immediately after that, but with a latency and not strict in the connection with the "old" plan in my opinion. Are there a possibility to avoid deactivating of the F-PLN after changing especially the STAR or transition?
June 14, 20205 yr Commercial Member The flight plan you see is not known to ATC until you file it. So, if ATC changes it by, for example, assigning a new STAR, then you must fly the newly assigned STAR. But if you want to change the STAR, then the procedure to do that is: Disconnect/Reconnect from the SIM File the new flight plan Make initial contact with ATC, usually Center. You will get a new Squawk code for the new flight and all should proceed normally after that.
