Eyepoints in 2D Panel

Featured Replies

Has anyone else experienced problems with the eyepoint up/down function in FSX? These are critical to flying with the 2D panel mode to be able to see over the glareshield when the aircraft pitch changes. The shift-enter and shift-backspace commands work fine in the virtual cockpit, in my 2D cockpit it appears the entire panel moves up and down with the eyepoint, rather than moving the eye with reference to the top of the panel (similar to raising and lowering your cockpit seat hight...). I can't get it to function correctly like in FS9 whether I use keyboard controls, or FSUIPC controls via my PFC yoke rocker switches.Anyone seeing something similar? Potential FS-X bug? thanks

In FSX is seems that now in the 2D cockpit shift-enter changes the height of the entire cockpit whereas in FS9 shift-enter changed onlythe height of the seat. The only solution I've found so far is to set the eyepoint position via the panel.cfg file.Regards.Ernie.

>Ever tried CTRL-Q and SHIFT-CRTL-Q in 2D cockpit?>>Jozef K. >>http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg CTL-Q, CTL-SFT-Q moves the whole cockpit, i.e. the seat and the panel rise and fall together...a most unrealistic movement. The eyepoint movement commands in 2D mode are useless since the panel moves with the eyepoint. Thank you MS for PORKING the 2D environment ( elimination of all the 2D view bitmaps for right/left/back/diagonal views ) to implement some grandious "camera" scheme that I doubt will get all that much use! >Ever tried CTRL-Q and SHIFT-CRTL-Q in 2D cockpit?>In FSX settings/controls page...The default CTRL Q setting is for 'View (always pan up)', whereas in FS9 the same setting was defined as 'eyepoint (move up)'.So 'View (always pan up)' didn't at all indicate to me that it was the same as the eyepoint setting was in FS9's 2D mode. But thanks for the info.Regards.Ernie.

>Huh?>>3 Screen shots using CTRL-Q and SHIFT-CTRL-Q. Did you change>your keys assignment?-SNIP->Jozef K. >>http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg> Are those shots of the VC cockpit or the 2D cockpit? We're talking 2D cockpit here. I used CTL-Q/CTL-SHIFT-Q directly from the keyboard on my Connie panel in @D and the whole panel rises and falls along with the eyepoint. Paul

"Are those shots of the VC cockpit or the 2D cockpit?"My screen shots are of course from the 2D cockpit, because that is what we're talking about here. There are differences between FS2004 and FSX regarding the functions of keys. CTRL-Q is one of them. Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg
