FSX Tweaking Results

Featured Replies

Have followed most of the tweaks in the forums. Pretty happy with results. Averaging 25-35 FPS in urban with max mesh complexity, 50% traffic, reduced cloud resolution (besides autogen, clouds are a big drain).Incorporated FSUIPC 4 as well (first add-on) and it works as advertised.I've got 2000hrs actual flying time and the difference between FS9 (with all the add-ons) and FSX is significant...particularly in the VFR realm with enhanced VC cockpit and greater environmental realism. I'm still doing my IFR/vAirline flying via VATSIM/Sqwuakbox in FS9 and awaiting the VATSIM migration to FSX.FSX IS a hardware beast (the unfortunate news)--Tom-that's all I'm saying about hardware : )--take a look below--RakeAMD FX-60Nvidia 7950 GX2 (1GB video)4 GB ultra low latency RAMRaptor 150GB 10000rpm HDDell 24" wide (running FSX at 1950x1200 32bit resolution)fsxcle.jpgFSXalps.jpg

Sparse autogen--max mesh complexity--keep the tweaks coming--thanks!!Rake

Autogen on top of green forest texture looks like trees grow on top of trees. No autogen for forest areas look more natural.

Could you list what your settings are? I'm running an Intel Core 2 X6800 at 3.9Ghz (Thermal Electric water cooled runs at -10 degrees C) FSB 1500 Mhz with 2GB very high speed RAM on an Asus P5W DH with ATI X1950XTX (overclocked also with dedicated water cooling loop 1/2").Looks like you disabled: Clouds & Autogen. Screen shots of your video settings would be most helpful. Thanks, Rob.
