Reality SP with Bodnar Boards

Recommended Posts

Hello -- I have a sim rig built with Leo Bodnar usb boards.  I have a 530 hardware box built with one of these boards (with encoders and switches).  I would like to know if Reality XP will work with this hardware as it does with the stock X Plane 172 (operates all functions of the 530) before purchasing RXP.  Any input appreciated.

Hi,

This is very easy: if your hardware is capable of controlling the default/stock X-Plane 530 GPS, then, you should be able to control the RXP GNS as well, because it offers a setting, "Use Simulator GPS Commands" which does just this: intercepting XPlane default GPS commands!

Thanks for the quick reply.  That sounds great and pretty easy. I’ll be ordering tonight. My real world plane has a 530 and having the sim replicate that will be a big aid in training and save burning all the dollars in gas. Appreciate the help.

That's what makes the RXP products so good!

If I may ask one quick follow up?  I run the sim with the 3d cockpit (and panel) -- do the graphics for RXP show up in the 3D panel or only in the popup?  Again, thanks for the quick response, much appreciated!

You'll always get a popup window in any aircraft if you want to, and you can most of the time "easily" configure the GNS in the 3D cockpit but this depends whether the aircraft 3D model as some space left for it to render (namely space in the panel.png render texture).

There are many aircraft pre-configured with RXP GNS, some others for which other customers like you are sharing their mods (thank you for this!), and a tutorial to understand it all and do you own too!

(Apologies if this post is in the wrong spot but I couldn't find a contact email on the website)

I was going through the purchase process (for the 530+430 bundle) and downloading the e-commerce .exe file.  The 530 worked fine but he 430 balked due to a virus warning.  I'm running windows 10.  Any advice on how to proceed?  Thanks.
