October 23, 200619 yr I have 2 Gigs of Ram and I have stutters in Spot view. No stutters when I am in VC. Terrible (unusable) stutters when in Option-> Replay (spot view). FSX Replay is unusable for me.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
October 23, 200619 yr Ok ive done as suggested, and slowely moved sliders right.....deleted the cfg etc and let it build a new one....it seems selecting 5m ground textures solves the stutter issue (they are still there only VERY VERY minor) Is this the same with other peoples setups? the ground textures causing probs?Ian
October 23, 200619 yr I am just trying to be realistic fsx looks great but you wont get rid of the stutters even with 2 gig of ram and dont let anyone kid you otherwise.I've done the lot on mine, dont throw good money after bad, fsx will work fine in two years with double the hardware power. I'm even tempted to get a g80 but i dont even think a graphics card with double the power will make much difference, it has to be double cpu and double graphics card power.I have cut the the autogen to a tiny amount in the fsx.cfg and i get 10fps and a few trees at my local airport, if i rename the file i get no trees at the airport at all and a small increase in fps.I have british airports addon for fs9 and get loads of trees and better buildings at the airport with double the framerate. This program is very inefficiently programmed as it stands but does look good dont get me wrong. Its just that if you want a smooth flight you will have t accept very blurry graphics.Thats the conclusion of my days of trying everything under the sun.The only time i get a smooth flight is at 30000 feet and not over a city with very few if any clouds, so dont get your hopes up.
