Where is the sun glare?

Featured Replies

This is something that I just realized the last time I played FSX--the sun doesn't produce sun glare. I didn't see an option for it in options, so this leaves me with a couple questions:1. Is this a bug?2. If it is not a bug, is there an entry we can add to a CFG file to make it work?Sun glare is a simple feature, but one that lends quite a bit to the realism factor. I do hope there is a way to get it back...

Turn on "Lens flare" in the configuration options...

Lens flare can be turned on/off in the main graphic option window ... haven't had it turned on so unsure if simulates sun glare or not.T :-)

Derek, the sun glare is turned on the the "bloom" feature that many have commented about. If you are up against minimum performance, then adding Bloom will likely make it unflyable. But it does add quite a bit of realism to the sun image...Loydinsert: sunset with Bloom...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159324.jpg

Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro

Ah yes I was afraid it would be tied to the bloom option (which looks quite nice). I haven't turned on bloom at all because I'm still struggling to get the game to run well with it off :(.It would have been nice if they provided an option to have a lower quality FS9 style sun glare for those of us (pretty much all of us actually) who can't turn on bloom :(.
