FSX and MRAI TrafficViewBoard

Featured Replies

Hi!I just got my copy of FSX and tried to install my FS9 MRAI TrafficViewBoard (for spotting AI panes) but no go.Has anyone tried to use it in FSX?If so, how would you install it?Grateful for help. Thanks!Hans HermanssonSweden

Yes, I've tried it and it failed the first time I loaded it. The gauge showed but no information was displayed. After I added the latest version of FSUIPC (v4) it worked, after a fashion. For some reason it doesn't see the traffic info properly so it gives erroneous data for flights i.e. it picks up the airline info OK, but the origin and destination and time data is scrambled. But it's still sort of useable. Looks like it wouldn't take much to get it to work properly.

oh this great news, sort of. The big question is how exactly did you do this and does this only "work" with the registered version or the free version of FSUIPC 4. I am glad other people are asking about this as well as me.I installed traffic view board to both main fsx folder and simobjects airplane folder and they both didn't work. I will mess around with it later but i am encouraged by this news.

Hi. Mine works too but the data is not correct. The new traffic file has to be decoded and a new dat file generated. If anyone gets the data working correctly please post it here.It does follow the aircraft and the communications work OK. Regards, BobF.

According to some people who know how to take these things apart - FSX traffic files are slightly different than FS2004 traffic files. That is why the program cannot fly both types if AI at the same time.FSX also reads FS2004 traffic files slightly different than FS2004. TVB is designed for the data which the .DLL files output in FS2004 - thus the mismatch of data.I have not idea if the guys intend to update TVB.

I found some interesting facts when using the TVB2.1 in FSX. With the default FSX traffic file the aircraft info is completely garbled on the TVB screen. If you click on the aircraft (even though you can't read it) it will follow the plane, although somewhat jumpy. The pan views are not possible. When I installed my UT traffic file you could read the aircraft although the info was not completely correct. The pan function worked OK. I guess we will have to wait for someone to figure out how to read the default traffic file. With both traffic files installed FSX only reads the UT one. It will not read the default one. Regards, Bob.

Hi Reggie. I have been trying to get the TVB21 to work right in FSX. I have my FS2004 UT Traffic.bgl in FSX. I don't have the default FSX traffic file installed. In FS2004 the TVB reads the data correctly. I added the FS2004 traffic dat file and the gauge file in my TVB panel folder. I have FSUIPC4.dll in my FSX Modules folder along with the trafficinfo.dll file. I see a lot of activity in the FSUIPC4 log showing the traffic view gauge file. Why won't the TVB read tha data just like it does in FS2004? The flight info is all jumbled up in FSX. The follow function and the coms work but the aircraft info displayed is not correct. I'd sure like to get it working 100% like in FS2004. I love the TVB. Thanks, regards, Bob.
