I'm flying the Xtrident B412 with the RXP GTN 750 addin, and LuaNG. the connection and operation of the GTN is working fabulously.

My issue, with the settings for the GTN to control the Auto Pilot, and having it track based on GPS NAV....... i discovered, that after i have my route plugged in, and trying to get the NAV to capture, I'd use the HDG mode to ensure proximity tolerance to the DTKE. Nav would capture momentarily, then it'd enter into a turn AWAY from the DTKE. not good.

next the only work around is to go up  on the menu plugins, select RXP GTN1 set master, and Unselect it, then repeat, and immediately Reselect the GTN1 as Master. NOW it will track the proper GPS DTKE as it should. 

but, there's a catch, sometimes a turn from the IF to IAF involves a noticeable track turn, and i lose the NAV again, and it resorts to HDG mode when it no longer stays captured to NAV. but IF i go and Unselect and Reselect as the Master Device.... then it will capture back onto the DTKE if i'm still within tolerance.

using xplane 11.50b15. don't feel it's an issue due to the Beta's. i'm also using X-trident v3 of his B412.

i'd post my RXP log for the B412, but i don't see any place to upload. glad to send to whomever.

I'm looking at the product description and this helicopter has a "custom 4 channels autopilot".

Are you using a user mod or is the GTN supposed to be pre-configured natively?

Is there a chance you could try with XP11.41 and compare?

i did not install the beta in a separate folder, ergo, i'd have to do a new install to get 11.41.

should i not use the RXP mod to the B412? and just apply the GTN addon from the reality-xp site? (to make the distinction)

Hi,

This is a mod, not a vendor approved configuration. This could be a XP11 beta bug as well.

I don't see anything in the settings which could lead to a probable cause though.

Since you don't have 11.41 handy, you might want to poll other users whether they are experiencing the same issues with this mod?

I deleted the modified AB412, and replaced it with a clean redownloaded version of AB412v3. 

still had the same issue. i'll see about downloading a clean copy of Xplane sans plugin, then add the reality-xp version.

see what i come up with.

 

added 2nd copy, clean 11.41 xplane. clean no mod AB412v3, and copied in the rxpGNS, rxpGTN plugins. 

still same issue, not tracking GPS nav. when it does, it disconnects on any Turning event.

that did the trick! Autopilot tracks GPS Nav using the GTN750 just like it should! 

p.s. i applied this tip to the beta 11.50b15 version, as i get great framerates both in and out of the clouds. makes practicing the IFR approaches FUN!
