July 28, 20205 yr Is it possible new updates to windows 10 during spring and summer can cause problems in FSX or in PMDG's aircraft? The reason for the question is it takes much longer time and distance to takeoff with PMDG 737-800 NGX than it has done before. To test, I have flown PMDG tutorial 1 all over again. With CDU V-speed at 139-141-144, it lifts the nose wheel at 181 and liftoff at 185. It also uses almost the entire runway at Gatwick's 3300m. I have checked several times there are no errors in the setup regarding brakes etc. Fuel 1/3, Payload full + 2 x 1500 in luggage. Flaps 5, trim 5.06 and total weight of 64.1 tons. Vlof is lower than V2 so something must be wrong. And 3000m to take off is not natural, I belive. July 28, 20205 yr Flaps 5 seems a bit low for a 747-400 Flaps 10 or even 20 have been used in certain situations. July 28, 20205 yr Don't know about the 800, but I do know flaps 20 is pretty standard stuff for a lot of 400 series departures and I would assume the 400 and the 800 are not massively different in this regard. The other thing I might be inclined to look at is the air temperature. If you've been getting shorter take off runs from the same airport earlier in the year, could it not be the hotter ambient temps in summer which are affecting the take off run? They would affect how much thrust you developed and available lift for sure. Edited July 28, 20205 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
July 29, 20205 yr Author I am not sure if we are talking about the same here. I fly PMDG 737-800 NGX and not the much heavier 747. Earlier flights with that plane was no problem. And the manual says flaps 5. I wil try using flaps 10 and 15 just to see what's happen.
