July 29, 20205 yr Hi, I installed the new Prepar3d V5. I use the MCP Combo-II icw Linda 3.2.5.1087 and FSUIPC 6.08 The FSX-default airplanes are working/interacting fine in the new environment. However ... the new 737NGXu is a problem, gives me no reaction in the buttons. The connection is completely dead. Changing it next into any normal airplane, the Combo is again 100% ok. I defined a new profile/preset for the NGXu but using e.g. the ALT buttons in NGX AP ALT Inc... or any other button-command doesn't work. As earlier said the COMBO-connection is dead using the new NGXu. What can I do to make this work ? Hope to hear from anyone Theo
July 29, 20205 yr Hi Theo Have you completely re-installed PMDG 737NGXu for P3Dv5? The installation location as an add-on and how it works with FSUIPC6 is completely different to previous installations. You can not simply copy your previous installation across and expect it to work. Most add-ons must now be installed in your /documents/prepar3d v5 add-ons/ directory. As repeatedly requested, please read and follow the Fault Diagnosis Procedure thread (under LINDA Support) and email me the logs. This is the only way I can analysis your problem and assist with a solution. July 29, 20205 yr Author Hi Andrew I send a mail with the logfiles to you. Hope to hear soon Many Thx Cheers, Theo
July 29, 20205 yr Thank you for the logs. Unfortunately the logging is incomplete. Select Maintenance page and click on Fault Diagnosis Mode. Then re-run the test and email me the logs again. From what I can see, your installation is not correct for P3Dv5. FSUIPC6 is designed to work with both v5 and v4 and its location has changed to /documents/prepar3d v5 add-ons/FSUIPC6. The /modules folder is no longer used unless you are running a single copy of P3D. The LINDA 3.2.5 should appear inside the /FSUIPC6 folder root directory and not inside a /modules sub-folder (see download thread and release notes). The linda2.log you sent is the one from the old P3Dv4 /modules folder. All airport add-ons need to be moved to the P3Dv5 add-ons directory so P3Dv5 can find them. The change of location is the biggest source of the errors you are experiencing especially for experienced users like you and I. It took me some time to get my head around this. July 29, 20205 yr Thank you for the latest logs. FSUIPC6 and LINDA are correctly finding your MCP2B. The test you ran was only for the FSX Default aircraft (Carenado C337 Skymaster). I don’t see you selecting the NGXu. The FSUIPC6.log shows it and LINDA closed correctly. However, there is an error reported at the end of the linda2.log where LINDA was unable to save the config-hid.lua file for the PMDG 737NGXu. There is also the anomaly that LINDA is searching the P3Dv4 add-ons for all aircraft. Where do you have PMDG 737NGXu installed? I would recommend that you uninstall FSUIPC6, take a backup of the P3Dv5 /modules folder, delete the /modules folder and then re-install FSUIPC6 and LINDA 3.2.5 in the recommended location (/documents/prepar3d v5 add-ons). Any add-on aircraft will need to be reinstalled in the new structure. August 8, 20205 yr Author Dear Andrew, I think I’ve solved the problem. 1. I renamed the folder into ModulesOld and installed FSUIPC and Linda in the well-known add-on-directory. This didn’t work. Constantly errors in Linda like “FSUIPC-files not found”. The Linda log-files didn’t gave me any clue or suggestion. 2. Back to the installation of Linda and FSUIPC into Modules. At first no reaction from the Combo2 to any plane. Then I moved/restored from my backup the 2 files config-hid.lua and handlers-mcp2.lua into the 2 Linda-folders. After restarting the whole system everything was fine and working. 3. At Iast I imported the Combo2-presets for the NGXU Everything is 100% no. Thx for your kind support. Cheers, Theo
