Confused about Prepar3D v5 add-on installation

Featured Replies

I am confused about installing Linda with the P3D add-on methodology.

I am using the version 6.0.9 FSUIPC and the version 3.2.5.1087 Linda programs. I installed Linda into the ..\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FSUIPC6 directory. When I start FSUIPC, the log shows the following:

Quote

   136094 LUA.0: beginning "C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FSUIPC6\ipcReady.lua"
   136203 LUA.1: LINDA:: [START] *********************** STARTING LINDA ***********************
   136234 LUA.1: LINDA:: [START] Loading System Configuration files
   136234 LUA.1: [START] file_exists linda-cfg/system/config-sys.lua
   136234 LUA.1: LINDA:: [START] Loading linda-cfg/system/config-sys
   136359 LUA.1: [START] file_exists linda-cfg/system/config-sys.lua
   136359 LUA.1: [START] Accessing linda-cfg/system/config-sys
   136359 *** LUA Error: ...\XXX\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FSUIPC6\linda.lua:376: module 'linda-cfg/system/config-sys' not found:
    no field package.preload['linda-cfg/system/config-sys']linda-cfg/system/config-sys
    no file 'P:\Program Files\Prepar3D v5\modules\linda-cfg/system/config-sys.lua'
    no file 'P:\Program Files\Prepar3D v5\modules\linda-cfg/system/config-sys\init.lua'
    no file 'P:\Program Files\Prepar3D v5\modules\lua\linda-cfg/system/config-sys.lua'
    no file 'P:\Program Files\Prepar3D v5\modules\lua\linda-cfg/system/config-sys\init.lua'
    no file 'P:\Program Files\Prepar3D v5\modules\lua\linda-cfg/system/config-sys.dll'
    no file 'P:\Program Files\Prepar3D v5\modules\lua\loadall.dll'

I am confused as to why FSUIPC is looking for Linda in the modules directory and not in the FSUIPC directory. Is there some configuration step that I missed?

Thank you for your query. I was also very confused and had a long debate with the FSUIPC developer over this type of error message.

When LINDA is initially installed there is no config-sys.lua file as this would overwrite user’s existing setups. The LINDA GUI (not LUA) should generate the file automatically when closed. The absence of this file causes the error you are seeing. FSUIPC at this point searches in several locations (including /modules) using several file extensions.

Check that config-sys.lua has been created in /fusipc6/Linda-cfg/system and restart LINDA GUI. If the problem persists please run and close LINDA and email me the FSUIPC6.log and linda2.log along with the config-sys.lua file. Email to Linda @ awginfosys.net.
