December 27, 200619 yr WOZ,Thanks for your efforts, but I still get the the scenery rotation.Although the aircraft does turn at a faster rate than the scenery. It is still not the fixed transition spot view of FS9.Hopefully you have got the ball rolling as to how to achieve the desired effect. It is too complex for me to work out.Why couldn't Microsoft have left what was a very good view alone?BJ
December 27, 200619 yr Mmmmm,I followed the instructions in one of Hendriks posts:"If you still have Fs2004 on your PC. Fire it up - take off - go to spot plane view - (start to uncheck 'gradual transition'). You will see another pop-down menu with Roll, Loop and Fixed options. Choose Fixed.Look at the plane when making a turn in this mode. You get a much more realistic view of the plane this way - or at least in my opninion you do."and I get exactly the same view response in FSX if I do the change I suggested above.! There is NO scenery rotation as the aircraft turn progresses. Are you sure you have cycled through to the correct view ?Re WOZ
December 27, 200619 yr I forgot to mention that the track option I suggested is apparently not in the SDK. Re WOZ
December 27, 200619 yr OK, OKWe are talking very subtle differences here. What I suggested previously:Track = FixedChase is equivalent to a "fixed" view" and "Gradual transition" checked in FS9while:Track = FixedChaseLocked is equivalent to a "Fixed" view and "gradual transition" unchecked in FS9 which is what I think you and others want.WOZ
December 27, 200619 yr WOZ,You've done it! FixedChaseLocked did the trick! All that is required now is an easy way to set the distance instead of using the view zoom function!Very Happy Here! Thanks,BJ
December 31, 200619 yr Author Hi WOZI haven't been checking Avsim for a few days.Saw your suggestions Yesterday (I didn't really believe that it would work), went at home and tried it.BINGO - CONGRATULATIONIT WORKED:-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy This must be added to the Tips and Tricks forum, many simmers miss the Spot plane View function.Microsoft hided this very well!!BTW - How did you come on that Track option when it isn't mentioned in the SDK?To B777 - good point with the performance difference between "Fixed" and "Roll" view.HAPPY NEWYEAR TO ALL SIMMERS.Best RegardsHenrik
