I recently bought a Honda - it cost me about $50KJust yesterday they announced that they are releasing a new version of the model I bought that actually has a small nuclear reactor under the bonnetI am just trying to gauge the feelings of the forum here - They have offered me an "upgrade" to the new model (I get to keep the "old" model for nostalgic reasons - but at least I can still use it) for a 30% discountIs this a ripoff or WHAT - I feel like I am being RIPPED OFF yet againHello Kids - grow up a little and figure out just WHO you should be fighting - Caveat Emptor rulzNow IF you want a real fight then perhaps you should look at exactly who is destroying your liberty and personal space by the stealth invasion of an illegal (in a lot of Countries) OS coupled with EULA's that some of you cant read that break an aweful lot of Laws (in a lot of Countries) - define your targetI realise that some of you cant read - but get your parents to translate - get them to look at this thread and take action before it is too latehttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=28765&page=This could be the defining moment of your computers

Ozzie my friend, your analogy is wrong. In the honda case you own the bike (asset) and you dont need to make a request to honda everytime you change your gas vendor!!In case of the s/w you are only provided a license to use it, you dont own it something like a lease to use. In such a scenario after I took a lease of a honda and they launched a new one day after with nuke I'll surely demand that from them, won't you!! Atleast thats how Wayside Audi in Milton Keynes always treated me.

Don't they do trade ins where you live? Can't compare actual valueable goods with software. Most software programs can be bought for the price of broadband internet access or a few CD-R's. Try that with your Honda. If your feared rip-off will happen everybody will upgrade for the price of a few CD-r's. Guess who's ripped off then. (but if they go to such draconion measures they deserved it IMO)

This is a heckuva deal, where do I sign up????I bought my wife an SUV and spent like 35K. Then, when I went and bought a 'Stang GT from the same dealer, I DIDN'T get any 30% discount!!! Yep, we were keeping the SUV too. Can you believe I had to pay pretty much what they were asking everyone else???Hook me up, buddy!!As for the rest.....man I gotta rummage around for my tinfoil hat before I try reading that again....

Hi, Ozzie.I am afraid you are waaay too late. All / most of the people in this good ol USA have been brain washed by someone / M$, and I am afraid that there is no turning back. One day will come when they will just order them to pay, without getting anything at all, and I am afraid that most of them will. TV

Quick Ozzie don't forget to put your tinfoil hat back on!Gotta love a loonie.James

Whatever happened to "An honest days pay for an honest days work"? The way I see it, it's really simple. If an upgrade requires any work to produce then the person responsible for doing that work is entitled to ber paid for his efforts. So for everyone who says all these urgrades to FSX should be free, all I can say was when was the last time you worked at your regular job for free? Any upgrade that does actually come free should be regarded with thanks as a bonus and not as a right.
