August 18, 20205 yr Happy to be here! Ever since a youngster, I was in love with airplanes and the "magic" of flying. Around 11 years old, my uncle (a private pilot) showed me MSFS95 and I was hooked. Taking off from Meigs Field, and looping out over Lake Michigan made me absolutely love flying. From there, I moved to MSFS98, and lastly MSFS2002. At that point, I got mostly out of simming (college, work, lack of a computer that would handle it). I dabbled in Falcon 4.0 for a little while. I never got into Xplane or other sims (not for any good reason). When MSFS2020 was announced last summer, I was shockingly happy. I decided that I would build out a proper rig (by my standards) to get back into the cockpit. As I've been reading up on things, I found this to be a heck of a resource on this website. Will I joy-fly? Yes. But deep down, I want to fly (as I used to) the "right way". For me, flight sims are a way to do something that I could never do in real life. Maybe it is learning on a 172, or "visiting" family in a KingAir. Running through a start up procedure on a 747 gives me goosebumps. This is why I sim. I'll help anyone however I can! i7-10700k (OC at 5.05MHz) | EVGA 3090 FTW3 (24GB) | G.Skill RipJaws V Series 32GB RAM (Effective 3200MHz) | 1TB SSD M2 (Samsung EVO) | Corsair 850W Gold P/S | MSI MAG CoreLiquid 240R | MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Edge WiFi | Logitech Yoke and Throttle Quad | Logitech Saitek Rudders | Logitech Switch Panel | Thrustmaster T.Flight 4 HOTAS | HyperX Cloud Flight S Headset | 43” LG 43UN700B 4k monitor | HP Reverb G2 (VR) Selling EVGA 2080 Super Ultra XC (8GB) - used for 3.5 months - PM me for info if interested! August 19, 20205 yr Welcome aboard! There’s plenty of room for serious procedural simming and just sometimes wanting to light the fires and kick the tires...that’s the beauty of it. If you’ve been out of simming for a while you’re going to be blown away when some of the high fidelity airline addons make their way to MSFS (PMDG, FS Labs, Majestic, Leonardo).
