US and UK Version a big performance difference

Featured Replies

Ok now im really puzzled by this but there seem to be a big difference.I had the US version but also received a UK version, since i have a version for me and for my son. Now i uninstalled the US version of my PC completely removed everything related to FSX and installed the UK version. Now the strange thing is that planes from FS9 that did not work in the US version work fine in the UK version. Another strange observation is that i now have to do no tweaking to play this game and still get between 20 FPS and 30 FPS where at first i did not even got only between 15 FPS and 20 FPS with the tweaks done. So somehow i come to think that the UK version was made at a later time or something i really don't know but im definatly puzzled. Now im thinking about still doing the tweaks provided on Matt's (Forkboy) website to see what i will get then.Just thought i let u all know, like i said im puzzled at the results but very pleased.

Did some moretesting, it looks like i dont have to do any tweaking what ever. For some reason when i do a bit of tweaking in the uk version then performance get worse and not better. So no tweaking needed anymore now im using the uk version, which makes me a happy flight simmer. I finally have a good working version.Even gets 20 FPS in new york now where i only had 8 FPS before in the US version.Still i dont know why there is such a big performance difference between the 2 versions.

I'm guessing that when you uninstalled the US version you forgot to delete the FSX folder that remains in Application Files, where you do FSX.cfg tweaks. When you installed the UK version, the old tweaks you made carried over. Thats my guess

That's a pretty good guess. Are you a detective?

No i deleted everything ,all folders, registry settings everything.Did the same thing with the us version after i uninstalled the demo, so there is no doubt the uk version is better and also has better support for older aicraft. Anyways im definatly enjoying the game more now the performance is great. And yeah i dont even have a good system2.3 ghz processor1 gb memorynvidia videocard Geforce 6800 128 mbso not the top system everyone wishes for but still running the game with great performance now with not 1 tweak done.

What would the difference even be between the US and UK versions?

Well - It may have something to do with the different way that the EU is conducting it's anti-trust investigations and the punitive actions that may be takenDo a Google (dont bother with MSN - highly unlikely to turn up the same results) and include all variations of the words Anti-trust and the primary company that is trying to control the worldYou may wish to add another search containing the letters WGA in association with said company - Or the letters DRM It all makes for interesting reading and may throw some insight onto the problems that are being encountered by many
