August 20, 20205 yr I would never have guessed the sim would perform so well on my ancient system. Much to my surprise FS2020 upon first launch recommend "High Settings". And there I thought I would be lucky with low settings before i decided to purchase. i7 980x 6-cores running at clock 3.33Ghz (not tried Hyper Threading yet) - 18 GB RAM (DDR3), Abit MB Deluxe V2, SSD drive, GTX 780 6GB VRAM (Strix) - 24 inch 1980-1200 screen I don't care about FPS (that leads to the dark side so i stay away from it) but the sim performs very smoothly on average. No slide show or stutters. It seems like the multiple cores are finally doing great. Perhaps the amount of cores is more important than clockspeed ?? The SIM is WONDERFULL - For the first time I was able to fly over London and Amsterdam without low performance (always an issue in FSX) For the first time I land in HECA (Cairo) and see that on the East of the Airport there are actually streets and houses/buildings. I mean, even with Orbx Africa + all FTX products it will only show a desert. Approaches are just so great now, no matter where you go, No need for yet another Innsbruck upgrade. Let's go somewhere else for a change. Really impressed sofar.
