October 28, 200619 yr At either fps locked at 20 or unlimited I am getting major hesitations. My framerates are anywhere from 15 to 36. There are no constant microstutters. The plane will fly smooth and then I get hit by a big hesitation. Sometimes the frame counter will go down about 10 fps or more when it happens, sometimes it doesn't. There was one instance when I was in exterior spot mode facing out from Salt City International to the great salt lake (just terrain, few trees and water and no buildings) and the fps was about 36 when I had a 2 second hesitation and the fps went down to 1.2. Afterwards it went back up to 36 fps and the plane was flying smoothly until the next one hit. This is getting really discouraging because I feel I'm getting close but still the plane is unflyable, even at high fps. Please help!P4 3.2 ghz HT, 2 gb dual path RAM, 6800 GT 256 mb, XP home.Tweaks:Fiber Frame Time Fraction is @ .33, Texture Bandwidth Mult @ 100, Autogen Den @ 1500 for trees and 1000 for buildings, Poolsize @ 1000000, 5000000 or 10000000 (hesitations on any setting), default.xml to .bakEverything else is default game.Mike
October 28, 200619 yr I was getting some hesitations/stuttering etc at certain times. What I did was to disable certain big time frame killers to see if that made a difference. It did in some cases. In one case I turned clouds off entirely and had no more stutters at that time. I'm guessing it has to do with not having enough computer power (ram, cpu, video ram/power etc.). You could try that by just disabling a big fps killer (autogen to non, or no ai at all, etc.) and see if that helps. One other thing I did was to install the reduced clouds tweak - worked well for me.FSx is great even with some problems....good luck,
October 28, 200619 yr Happens to me, but my screen goes white then pauses 2-5 seconds, refreshes and then I'm fkying. Real bad in bad wx....
October 28, 200619 yr Yep - Got the same today!! Seems worse for me at high altitude when panning in exterior view.Think it might be 3D clouds ? Will try with simple clouds tomorrow - or Traffic 2005 ??MickSimilar System to yours!
October 28, 200619 yr Author I've tried all of the tweaks out there (including reduced texture sizes). I have tried simple clouds. I've tried varying all of the FSX.cfg settings. I've tried with sound disabled. Nothing will get rid of the big hesitations. The sim is unflyable for me even with decent fps. I've been f*****g with this sim now since the 17th with no improvement in this regard. This is crap!!!!Back to FS9. FSX gets put away along with CFS3 as a waste of money.Mike
