Turboprop & mixture

Recommended Posts

Hi, just a quick question.
I found myself flying with full mixture in turboprops.
But is this correct?

In other planes, I use mixture and watch for best fuel-flow.

There is no mixture lever in a turbine engine.

You will find a condition lever instead. Generic detents would be fuel cutoff, low idle and high idle.

Note: this does not effect the total amount of power available, it just controls the Ng /N1 idle speed
