CYEG, Edmonton, no detailed airport ??

Featured Replies

And CYEG too has no detailed airportI have scenery at max, no autogen, Delux versionI thought it would, and CYYC were to be detailed?//What kind of false advertising is this CRAP ???

why would a place hardly no one knows or cares about have a high detailed airport.

>why would a place hardly no one knows or cares about have a high detailed airport.I know and care about it.Calgary Olympics? Edmonton Oilers and 5 time Stanley Cup Champions.

Huh? whats that?!?

>why would a place hardly no one knows or cares about have a>high detailed airport. What he is saying is according to MS there is detailed scenery at Edmonton (and Calgary) but when he goes there he sees nothing. Please show just a tiny bit of respect for this guy!!!!Andrew Brown192029.png

They never said Edmonton was going to be detailed. The list for the deluxe package was:Amsterdam Schiphol, Anchorage, Auckland, Beijing, Boston, Chicago, Copenhagen, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Hong Kong, Kill Devil Hills (Kitty Hawk), Las Vegas, London Heathrow, LA, Madrid Barajas, Mexico City, Miami, Minneapolis, Narita, New York JFK, Oshkosh, Oslo Gardermoen, Charles de Gaulle, Phoenix Sky Harbor, Rio, Rome Fiumicino, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Seoul, Lamber St. Louis, St. Martin (Netherlands Antilles), Stockholm, Sydney, Taipei, Toronto, Vancouver and Washington DC

>And CYEG too has no detailed airport>>I have scenery at max, no autogen, Delux version>>I thought it would, and CYYC were to be detailed?//>>What kind of false advertising is this CRAP ???>>I would be interested in seeing that list if you have a link to it? The only additional scenery is a few buildings around the centre of Edmonton. Same for Calgary. Airports are indeed default. On the subject of Canada I see that Halifax has the wrong runway numbers (should be 23 not 24) I don't remember exactly when they did change but it was more than six months ago.Andrew Brown192029.png

I am not sure where you read that Calgary and Edmonton were to be detailed...but the only 2 Canadian Airports that are detailed are Vancouver and Toronto Pearson.

OKMaybe I was looking at a detailed cities list, but this was before the final release so it will take a while to find the reference, although I distinctly recall seeing 4 Canadian Cities in the list.otherwise I guess everything is as it should be...allen

Thanks for the information Jim :)Andrew Brown192029.png

I've got a file which changes the CYHZ runways - need some folks to test it. Completely FSX BGLComp XML.Drop me a pm with an e-mail

If you look in:Flight Simulator XSceneryNAMWscenery, there is a calgary.bgl and an edmonton.bgl. Not sure if they do anything...:-) Cheers, Bob

I don't think Microsoft every advertised the list of detailed airports. Many people read the file names from the beta folders and posted those lists as the detailed airport without actually visiting them.Calgary and Edmonton have files which are 981KB and 877KB in size. As a comparison - the San Francisco file is ten times that size. The texture folder is more revealing than the scenery folder. In Calgary you should be able to find:Bankers HallCalgary TowerCanterra TowerFifth Avenue PlacePetroCanada CentreSaddledomeTDsquareIn Edmonton, the custom buildings should be:BelltowerCity HallCNTowerCommerce ???ManulifeScotiaSkyreachThat pretty much constitutes an enhanced/ detailed CITY in FSX.

Thanks guys for the clarificationsSo the first misleading info was a simple list made by beta's from the folder to a supposed list of detailed airports, a correlation that does not translate correctly.OK, so there are not any detailed airports at CYYC and CYEG, just city add-ons allen
