Why can't I just LOAD a flight...?

Featured Replies

There is something that's been bothering me in earlier version of FS already: whenever I want to load a saved flight I can only choose Fly now. Why can't I just load it and stay in the menu so I can edit the flight? Suppose I got a great flight setup to my liking with certain weatherconditions and a specific location and time: I want to fly that one but with a different plane and another location. As it is now I have to create that entire flight from scratch! Why is that? Or am I overlooking something? I know I can change settngs while flying but in order to (for instance) just go to another location I have to load EVERYTHING again, which takes quit some time...

???After you load a previously saved flight, make the changes you want: aircraft, departure airport, time of day, weather, etc., then......Go flying?

I can't! When I choose Load... on the Free flight screen and pick a flight I can only choose Fly now! I want to stay on the Free flight screen to edit things, but I can't. Can you?

Hi J van,You seem to want "load a saved flight" to incorporate the features of "create a flight". Why it doesn't work like that is because that's the way it's programmed. Remember programs do what they're told to do, not necessarily what you want.My way around the issue is to pause the newly loaded flight; save it with a different name; make the changes (and test if necessary) then re-save it one final time. And then again later with a different AC. and then again at sunset.. and again at...Loyd

Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
