August 25, 20205 yr Hello everyone, I am getting desperate. I'm running Windows 10 2004 (1903 originally) and Prepar3D V4.5. After a windows update on August 14, trying to start my P3D would result in this error: "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application". I'm at a loss. I have tried reinstalling P3D client, rolling back said windows update, updating windows even further as far up as 2004 but no avail. I have no idea what's causing this error. Event Viewer is empty. Please help me. Regards, Dmitrii
August 25, 20205 yr I had the same issue and, as odd as it sounds, reinstalling Microsoft Office fixed it. It wouldn’t launch properly either. After reinstalling Office, P3D started working again. Edited August 25, 20205 yr by flycln

If Your office copy is 2007, 2010, 2013 and not the latest, then it might also break P3D because of C++ runtime library or .NET conflicts, among other factors. August 25, 20205 yr Author I uninstalled Office, the error is now gone, but now the splash screen disappears. But I know it's because I reinstalled Client and installed 3rd party shaders, I just need to change the encoding of some shader files using Notepad++ and P3D will work again. Thanks everyone for the help!
