October 31, 200619 yr Heads up for FSX'ers with FS9 and Ultimate Terrain. If you are not already aware of it, you can now get a smooth port of landclass; lakes, rivers and coastlines as well as 'UT detailed Land areas' from your FS9 installation from Ultimate Terrain (if you uninstalled fs9 - well, that's unfortunate...) The conversion of roads and railroads is not ready yet but some of the basics can be transferred now. Let this also serve as a reminder to all who use add-on products: keep checking with those folks who enhanced your FS9 so much - upgrades might appear at any time.I was so taken by the improvement in just the LC, that I went flying and didn't even check the water, coastlines and rivers yet. That's tonight's project!LoydSilverthorne Colorado, before and after FSX style:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/160086.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/160087.jpg Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
November 5, 200619 yr Author Hi D,The screenie showed how much difference better Landclass files make. The Ultimate Terrain folks have made a utility to 'extract' your UT data from your FS9 install. Not all yet, mind you, but Landclass for whatever packages you already own and have installed (I only have USA) and the rivers, coastlines etc. No roads yet. There are some signifincant differences between FS9 and FSX. They are working on an update but some parts can be used 'as is'.If you have FS9 with any Ultimate Terrain installed go to the Ultimate Terrain forum site and download the 'conversion utility'. I failed to bookmark it and haven't found the actual link again but someone else has posted the link within the last few days. If you have UT currently installed it might be worth a serious search effort.Loyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
