Need some help with camera settings

Featured Replies

Hello,

First I would like to make the "upper cockpit" view my standard view as i don't really like and need the actual standard camera. Has anyone a tip for me how to achieve that? I know there is a cameras.cfg but haven't found the right entries yet.

Second i am looking for a Keybind to reset the view to the standard camera but can't figure out which command that is.

Any help appreciated!

A few things I did:

Find/map keys to raise and lower viewpoint (forget what it is called exactly, but you can raise your eyepoint up to a more realistic point)

You can set up 10 custom views, just set the view you want and hit ctrl-alt-# (0-9).  View 0 always is my main flying viewpoint.  It isn't quite default, but it works.  Then, map a button on your joystick to load view 0 (on mine it was already mapped to "reset view" or something, but then you make your own view the default).  Use the other views for instrument panels, look left and right, etc.  Takes a few minutes per plane once you get going (keep all your views consistent across the planes).

The camera system is actually pretty powerful and reminds me of payware products from other sims, but of course there's no real explanation how it works, you just have to figure it out.

That sounds good. I have already set an individual POV but haven't found a way to reset the view on a reliable way. Will give it a try later! Thank you!
