Currently 17:52 UK time Friday evening I am getting the Marketplace tab greyed out - is anyone else getting that ?

If you lost connection to the MSFS 2020 servers it would be greyed out.

It is the connection to the MS servers. It is on automatic but the little icon next to automatic is just spinning and the drop down box shows no servers. It is very strange as has been fine for last two weeks, have even bought stuff from marketplace. Nothing changed in system and internet fine. Have downloaded another game pass game today and that was fine so ms account is fine. Very odd. Have raised issue with msfs support. If they come up with a fix I will post back as it may help others.

Quite weird as MSFS has not been able to see the servers for me since yesterday. Still the case until I signed out as myself and signed in as my daughter within MSFS. It then downloaded the licenses for the content to my daughters account and i could see the servers/market place on her account. I then logged out of her account and back in as me still within MSFS and then the system could see the servers on my account again and the Marketplace was live again. Seems somehow MSFS had a glitch on my account which switching to another account and back to mine reset. I had previously tried logging out of my account and back in within MSFS but that did not work. Fortunately my daughter has a Game Pass account too so flipping to her account worked.

Not sure whether this will help anybody but thought I would post back.
