Which G1000 Hardware and s/w do you recommend

Featured Replies

I ve been looking at both.. Realsimgear and Simionic  but not sure which to get

A) The Simionic need the bezel ($1500) + 2 IPDs 9.7" + 20$ Apple IOS software. The MSFS version is WIP.

or

B) Realsimgear. This requires two monitors (I believe it comes with the bezel.. so additional expense) but it requires two ports from your PC. It also needs software from  Mindstar G1000 Advanced Edition in P3D v3 and FSX Steam and with Flight1Tech G1000 Student Pro edition for hardware for P3D v3, v4 and v5.

What would you prefer and why?

Thanks for any suggestions.

The choice will depend on where you see yourself flying in a few years time. If you go the Realsimgear route it looks like your flying would be limited to xplane and P3D particularly with the Flight1 tech G1000 as that looks to have no entertainment licenses available at all as its intended purpose is for flight training. the Mindstar option as of right now would be a fingers crossed that they update it. They say 2020. So the realsim looks great on the hardware side of things as its drivers are compatible with several different programs however the software side looks to be a little more limited

The simionic with the SH1000 combo also looks good however the hardware side is closed as It can only be used with its own software suite. That suite pretty much includes all the major flight sim titles which is great though.

Tuff call to make. Both are good options with pros and cons. I would probably wait and see what the Mindstar guys come up with. If they make the G1000 64 bit compatible there stands a good chance that would include MSFS as well and in that case I would choose the realsim gear G1000.
