I agree. This is why my attitude has been one of patience with the platform. Aboso needs time to develop it, to work out responses to questions and challenges that involve different methods. Technology and programing has evolved considerably since 2006 (it has gone through its own paradigm shifts).  We see some of the results of efforts to use new technology and new approaches, and they are groundbreaking and brilliant. Yes, there are things to iron out, there are things to add,  but the core functionality seems very sound. Finally, we are in a place where developers do not need to be thinking about how to "hack" the system to get it to do something it was never designed to do. A new platform with by all accounts a dedicated team that wants flight simulation to really succeed.  But if we want this new engine to be all that it can be we need to give both Aboso and third party developers -- especially those producing complex aircraft that really aim to accurately model performance, systems and procedures, the time to think anew.  

And I think it is likely at the end of the day that this platform will allow creative and passionate people to produce a really wide range products to bring added value to our experience. Interestingly, it seems it may even allow many of us the possibility to create our own sceneries. This is something I never really considered before but now I am. And this only broadens and deepens my engagement with this hobby!

The one addon I'm looking forward to is air hauler 2(or a similar addon that releases earlier). The scenery, GA aircraft and weather are already good enough for me and I dislike flying too big and unwieldy aircraft.
