MSFS2020 VKB Virtual Toe brakes -Assistance Requried.

Featured Replies

Hello fellow aviation nuts,

I'm running a VKB Gunfighter MKIII with MCG pro grip and VKB Pedals.    I would be extremely grateful if someone would be kind enough to share a Black Box profile that has functional virtual toe brakes in FS2020.

VKB posted a working profile with functional toe brakes in 2017,   but as far as I can tell nothing from them since.    My problem is that the profile they posted is setup for the VKB KG12 grip,  but I have the MCG Pro grip so that profile doesn't work properly.

VKB's hardware is undeniably excellent, and I am definitely a huge fan.   But as a customer,   I feel as though their software  and software support is sub-standard when compared to contemporaries.

To be bluntly honest,  if I had it all to do over again I most likely would not consider VKB pedals in any way,  shape,  or form.     When I spend $1000 on a stack of gear,   I just want it to work right with minimal hassle.    I don't mind loading or editing a profile, but

I should not have to attend 4 years of community college just to learn the nuances of some obscure,   poorly designed,  overly complex user interface.    That's just bad business in 2020,  and I feel as though there is no valid excuse they could express.

So in shorte,  VBK is in the wrong because they don't support their products with profiles that enable basic functions like toe brake functionality.

I joined the VKB support forum to relate the above,   but the account has been awaiting approval for 3 days.

Here is a link to VKB's site and the virtual toe brake profile,  https://vkbcontrollers.com/?p=4666

Thanks everyone!

Hey, curious if you got any further forward on this? I have these rudders but looking to explore toe brakes.

Yes, they are working fine in MSFS and other sims.  But, I have VKB pedals and stick so I'm not sure it would help you.

I had to download VKB Config,  and then use it to "Load" and then "Set" a black box profile that supports virtual toe brakes.   "Load" will read the profile into VKB config,  "Set" will send the profile you just loaded to the black box.

I used the profile from "Fallout's" post,   http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4513&p=43048#p43048

That profile uses the brake lever on my VKB stick to apply brakes,   so it's not much help probably.

Wish I could be more help,  but afraid not.   I think VKB's "T-Link" software might help you bind brakes to a button or lever,  not positive though. https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/174097-vkb-mk-iv-t-rudder-new-owners-and-veterans-qampa/page/2/

EDIT:  I may have made some unwarranted assumptions about your controllers by reading your sig.  If you have a VKB stick and pedals,   give me a shout and I can provide further assistance.

Thanks Waldo. I have the VKB GF3 & Kosmosima grip along with t-rudder mk4 pedals. I saw on another post about binding the grip twist for toe brakes so I may give that a try first then look at the t-link software if needed. I don’t want to lose any other axis from the joystick which is why I’ll try the twist grip first.
I technically don’t need toe brakes at the moment but would still be nice to have the option of differential braking.
