SoFly MSFS Manual update - TBM Tutorial Flight

Recommended Posts

I got a heads up a few days ago this was coming and I just downloaded the free update and glanced at the content.

This has to be one of the better flight tutorials that I have seen, as I am a big fan of tutorials.  This one covers our TBM 930 in great detail (for a sim pilot).  There is a lot of exposure to the many parts of planning a flight (Skyvector), prefight, startup and go, making the flight, arrival and landing.  This is highly recommended for all levels. Lots of nice closeup images for some of the details.  You can't go wrong with this and they keep adding more content to the basic Intro Manual.

Go over to FSElite and look around for an ad for SoFly's guide.

I don't want this to sound like an advertisement, but, this might be your best investment for learning more about our new flight sim than you even think is available.

The full name of the ebook is A Guide to your brand new Flight Simulator and it is about as up-to-date as possible.  Other than the outstanding content, the latest version is 190 pages in Portrait format and 96 pages in Landscape (yes, they are totally different layouts).  It includes a section on tutorials, like the G1000, TBM Tutorial Flight, and many others. It has a section on Training, one on Aircraft overview, Airports and Cities (selected cities of the world in great detail).

The main thrust of the Guide is how to navigate the sim, the menus, and such.

I like the fact that it is still evolving, like our sim.  Most highly recommended. (I paid for my copy, this is not a review)

There are a few typos here and there and a few gargbled sentences,  but, overall it is well received by me also.  V 1.3 has 190 pages.

My personal opinion is the TBM tutorial is a little dorky and has room for some improvement, but, that is just my opinion.  Several of the thing they do could be done a lot more straight forward using readily available features of the G3000, like the Direct To key, etc.

But, it is a good thing that we have a live document that will be updated as the sim changes and it will.
