Did I do something wrong? MSFS Patch 1.8.3.0

Featured Replies

Up until this point, I have been very happy with MSFS, as far as GA flying. Fantastic scenery! Much smoother than P3d v4! Room for improvement? Yes! But I have loved it! It's been great with only promise to get better!

Last night, I fired up the simulator and clicked to allow the patch to install but I had to get some other things done so I didn't have time to do a flight before bed. So, when it was finished, I shut down the computer. I decided to do a quick flight this morning before work only to find that when I opened the simulator, it wanted to install 102.82 GB of data! I was confused so I went to the root folder and all that was there was 9 GB of files! Everything else was gone!

So, I am currently reinstalling the simulator... 102.82 GB...

What happened? Did I do something wrong?

Are you saying you, installed the launcher and then ran the game and let it download the 15gb and installed it then let it go to the main screen, then you quit to desktop and then turned of your pc and went to bed? Then this morning it deleted the sim?

To be fair, I almost uninstalled the game by accident having to select "Run as administrator" every time I boot it up (Which is conveniently located above the Uninstall option) --- Man I really should have bought it on Steam...

Why do you have to do that? I just click on my icon and let it run. Never had to run as administrator and I've never had any problems with the sim.

I had the sim already installed and had logged close to 50 hours of flight time.

Yesterday, I ran the sim and let the 15 GB update install. After that, it said the update was complete. It then went to the home screen. Later in the evening, I closed the sim to the desktop and shut down the computer.

This morning I turned the computer on, fired up the sim and it said I had to install 102.82 GB. I checked the root folder and there was only 9GB there.

So, reinstalling now...
