MFS Pre-Flight. 1 out of 3 ain't bad? Sorry Meatloaf

This was always my routine with FSX.  August 2.  System failure.  August 23, new system in place.  Installed FSX SE.  All that rig-a-mor-all no longer needed.  Nada a problem or CTD.

MFS today.  One out of three ain't bad?  Sorry Meatloaf.

Flew actually four times today and had issues with two.  The first flight was with the DA62 and I appear to have learned it and it's G1000 well.  No issues.

Next three flights in the Baron.  First flight I ran into weather and attempted to shortcut my flight plan by diverting to a waypoint that was upstream and more direct.  Baron would not follow it after that.  Locked into ROL mode and just acquired it's own direction.  I could successfully switch to HDG mode, but I accepted the challenge of overcoming the ROL issue.

I lost.

Next flight was to fly the same flight plan from KUMP to KBMG that I successfully flew in the DA62 earlier in the day.  Hit the air.  Engaged AP and NAV.  Got a wonderful scenic tour of the city of Indianapolis.  Geist Reservoir, downtown, overfly of KIND, great look at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Had the same flight plan loaded and on NAV and GPS.  The Baron kept changing direction.  Easy turn to the left.  Nice turn to the right.  I was entranced just watching so just let it go.  After an hour and wonderful looks at my former home town I disengaged, went back to KUMP, and landed.

Quit MFS, rebooted, closed all unneeded apps, flew the same flight plan again.  No issues...  Oh. None other that that the VS mode slowed too much descent rate at 2580 and did not make it to 2500 in time for the FAF.  'nother manual landing.  No problem, nice VFR, not IMC.

My fantasy schedule compels a successful flight tomorrow from Chicago to Cincinnati.  Hello FSX SE and Milviz B55....

Guess it was two out of four today.  Preflight requirements noted...
