1.8.3.0 Patch A320 Cold/Dark Batteries Dead

Featured Replies

Thought I would report this here in case anyone else has the problem and knows of a fix. I already reported
to the MSFS Insider and eventually will to Zendesk. I only fly the A320 from the cold/dark at a gate. Pre-patch, it was great. Had pre-patch stutters and such, same as everyone.
Post-patch seemed OK for about a week. Nothing changed in my system, it's a new 'puter. Windows 10
2004 updated version and all, all drivers up to date. No new windows updates. Now post-patch, I cannot get the A320 out of cold/dark. I do a flight plan,
say KPDX to KLAX. Set it for a gate. Boot it up. External power is "Avail", I push it, nothing happens.
The battery off lights no longer appear. The entire cockpit stays dark. I have entirely reinstalled the
sim from scratch. That was the bright spot, only took 90 min. That did not good. I'm stumped. I run the sim
as "administrator," no help. My system is new, fast and MSFS is the only app on it.

Maybe try installing the community mod. They have done a few fixes. I am using it and my Airbus starts fine from cold and dark.

Good idea, I may try that! Thanks!

UPDATE:

I have two PC's. The one that is spec'd out below, my newest and most powerful. It replaced an i7-4790 much older 4 core, HT PC with 16Gig. It ran the original non-patched MSFS just fine, just high or medium, no ultras. I installed the current 1.8.3.0 MSFS on the older, less powerful machine. Guess what ... same problem. Cold/Dark A320, cannot power up the cockpit. I even downgraded my newer machine from Windows 10 2004 to the prior Windows version just to test difference machine to machine for windows. No joy. It did not help. CONCLUSION: the present patch is flawed for A320 electrical system or I have not found the magic switch somewhere. But two machines can't run the current patched MSFS displaying the same exact problem? That is odd. Why are some having no problem with this on the A320? I think it's not my machines in any case which is good news. Time to cool my jets, report to the Zendesk and then let Asobo work on stuff in coming months. This is a long haul project.

I have exactly the same problem although I have found it is not doing it every time but I haven't worked out a fix yet other can keep re-booting until it works or removing the realism by starting on the runway. Such a shame this patch has created so many issues.

Unfortunately helps only partly. Did a short test flight. Startup was fine, taxi was fine, takeoff and flight was fine, but during approach, everything went off -- engine, electrics, hydraulics, avionics, everything. (No, I had no failures set).

Microsoft/Asobo needs to fix the underlying issue, and hopefully not wait for the October patch, but earlier. *sigh*

I have had your problem once as well while I was trying to fix mine. Layers and layers of failure! Thank you for confirming.

LOL ... I just checked Zendesk ... Spent 20 min. scrolling through the thread of exactly the problem I am having including pics of exactly the same thing. Maybe 15 posters back and forth for thirty or forty posts. I laughed ... but really, I should be crying. Fortunately the problem has been reported as a bug to developers, so I will not bother, though it feel good not to be alone.
