  1. Her passing is not a surprise, rather the emptiness that is felt for us older folks who our whole lives of many decades she has always there and now is not. Kind of bigger than life. Working as she did right up to two days before she left us. Incredible! I am an American, but I still can say as a world observer: "God save the king!" United001
  2. Even right now, I cannot get the Flightbeam website to work for me to show an update for KPDX so I missed that April advisory. It's just as well as I would prefer the marketplace have the update. I've never been to the Contrail site, it looks like a brokerage for many product makers including Flightbeam. No matter, I would have waited for the marketplace to post it, so it's all good. United001
  3. Great news for KPDX fans. FlightBeam just released an update through the MSFS marketplace to fix KPDX taxi ways and runways. Specifically they finally fixed the ILS approach 111.30 called IIAP to KPDX 28R. I did a fly about with my FBW A320 and yes, IAP is indeed fixed and fully functional. 😄 United001
  4. Good on them. Anything to forward MicroS/Asobo to get the SDK along as far as possible so that third party add-on developers can churn out the apps/add-ons we all want to get things like proper ATC working to the Nth degree. If commercial folk utilize MSFS in some way profitable to MSFS I don't see where we simmers also don't profit from a better and further developed product. United001
  5. Hope this becomes available in 2022. (or anytime really). United001
  6. Three words. No negativity. No doubts or maybes. I love and agree with: "Finally great news!" United001
  7. I have encountered the same error in 28R at KPDX. It should be IIAP and not IVDG at 111.30. I use FlightBeam's KPDX but the same error shows up without Flight Beam's KPDX using native MSFS2020 which usually is correct. Not this time. Likely have to log this with ASOBO as an error that needs fixing or with FlightBeam or with both. United001
  8. I don't quite understand. You did a complete reinstall of Windows 11 after a disk reformatting? So you deleted the entirety of MSFS as well. Then reinstalled Windows 11 and then reinstalled MSFS anew as well AND, flew it successfully, no problem. Then tried to boot up MSFS again but it has disappeared? Is that correct? Or am I missing something here? United001
  9. Thank you. I didn't think it so much an accident as a totally unnecessary risk. Back in the day, participating in betas felt fun, a hassle free adventure with no tricky outcomes riddled with regrets. Nowadays, regrets a plenty for some. I admire those who did and assisted Asobo in doing so. Not me. United001
  10. There actually is no otherwise. There doesn't have to be a stated reason for how things are, ever. I am a member of another forum for entirely different subject matter, just not quite as long-lived as AVSIM. Some members behave as if controversial issues are solved by a hand-raising democracy of voters. Not so, so not so! You don't like the rules, then stay away. Full stop.
  11. I too find what you are doing very interesting, and I love reading about how other approach their MSFS experiences, but I will not do the same. I have logged over 900 hours of shameless minimalism. Happy to take off and land the FBWA320 around big airports with very little add-ons. MSFS is a wonderful sand-box that way. Happy flying everyone! United001
  12. I don't think it's unusual to be attracted to the bright, shiny new aircraft that XP or the others offer still. I miss my Zibo 737 for sure. But I don't miss the other ugly things about XP that I never liked and that MSFS does so much better. Stay the course with patience, I think you'll be happier over time. United001
  13. Not as enthusiastic as others, there is no doubt that the DC-6 lives up PMDG standards for detail of cockpit and externals. PMDG provides lots of options for how much immersion into procedure of starting, ect that you desire, a typical PMDG perk. For me it feels heavy in the air, not snappy responsive, neither sluggish. I've flown it only twice since purchase weeks ago because in the end I still like my FBWA320 better, but not sorry I bought the DC-6. United001
  14. After the initial weather craziness. Four or five days later it seems fine. I only fly the west, BC to San Diego, so not the worst weather in the world, just saying. I rather thought they fixed something at the server level and said nothing about it. United001
