The Xplane version uses the forces directly from the sim but only from planes that have that defined in the models. For most planes, it applies some kind of generic formula to estimate forces. I am not sure though the fact that it is meant to react to turbulence suggests it using sim data. However note that forces "in flight" such as turbulence do NOT seem to be working for the fs2020 version and there is no indication when that might be fixed.
September 26, 20205 yr anyone know where to get the download for the demo version? I can only see option to buy, can't find download of demo. EDIT: nevermind, just had to scroll down on the page and found it, duh! Edited September 26, 20205 yr by omszz
October 7, 20205 yr XPforce have brought out a driver update that seems to have improved a few things. I have been experimenting with the alt-trim mode. You need to hide the on screen yoke as alt-trim means it no longer tracks your own device but all in all it makes a big difference being able to trim by holding the stick/yoke in position and trimming to remove force the way you are meant to.
October 13, 20205 yr Hi all: I am testing this with my ffb2 now. How do I use trim buttons? I see no assignment for up and down trim. In msfs I use buttons 3 and 4 on the yoke for trim up and down. I dont understand what I am supposed to set in xpforce to do the same thing. Alternately, I would be happy just using trim as is, but the buttons do not work once xpforce is running. I do not see an adjustment for yaw either. I use the twist grip on the ffb2 for yaw. Any advice would be appreciated. -Stampee Specs removed.

On my FFB2 I have trim on the up down for the hat and that still worked fine after installing XPForce. if you have trim configured in game to those buttons and they are not working with XPForce running something is wrong. The configuration options for things like yaw force in XPForce are obtained by going to the hidden icons area in the RH task bar and right clicking on XPForce (in the hidden icon area not main taskbar) and selecting "settings". Note once it is up, there are several tabs you need to click through. However I am pretty sure the FFB2 only has force feedback motors on the main axis not the twisty axis. The twist axis just has a spring centre no force. Setting up forces for the twist axis will do nothing on a FFB2 . There is one main option for trim in the settings which is basically turning ALT TRIM on and off. ALT TRIM off - uses the default trim in MSFS where the joystick always remains centred regardless of trim setting. ALT TRIM on - this uses an XPForce alternate trim mode that moves the joystick forward and back as you adjust trim (like in a RL aircraft) advantages of ALT TRIM - you can trim the way you do in real life by holding the attitude you want and trimming until the stick force disappearsdisadvantage of ALT TRIM - the game yoke will visually get out of sync with your real one, I just make the in game yoke invisible * note there was a bug in ALT TRIM at one point that reversed the direction of trim but that seem to have been fixed Edited October 13, 20205 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
October 13, 20205 yr Glenn; thankyou. I went to settings a few times, something must be bugged i have "none" selected for trim buttons in xpforce, but my trim still wont work in msfs. Once the ten minute trial period ends in xpforce, then my trim buttons start working again in msfs. I forgot, yes i dont think there ever was any trim force for twisting the yoke Thank you Stampee Specs removed.
December 15, 20214 yr XPForce is dead ! no more working after SU7 and developer does not answer any question / comment. Tt freezes MSFS while loading. Go to see Airforce Player, perfectly working. The author is receiving comments to add functionalities. Also, it can be loaded after MSFS, which is really nice.
