September 28, 20205 yr I've been eyeing the Thrustmaster Airbus series, particularly the throttles with their detents...figure they should be good for airbuses and condition levers on the Majestic Dash 8. I didn't jump quick enough on the Amazon pre-order when it showed up briefly about a month ago. Supposedly the first officer pack was going to be released on September 25. But I can't find any trace they actually were released. I think briefly saw October 22 through Amazon UK. Now when I'm looking, I'm not seeing many dates mentioned, but I found a couple mentions of March 1, 2021. Any idea of the first round has actually been released? Or are they delayed? And if delayed, any announcements on when they're realistically expecting to be shipping? Eric Szczesniak
October 2, 20205 yr March 2021 sounds about right. I also missed out on the pre-orders, but have both the stick and throttle on backorder. I received email notification today that the joystick would be arriving in their warehouses at the "end of October", and that the throttle quadrant would be arriving "mid-February 2021". . ☹️

The sense I’m getting is that all the throttle is severely delayed and no one is getting them for a while. I have not seen one site ever say “in stock” or any simmer comment about having received one. Eric Szczesniak
October 6, 20205 yr Search on Ebay for Logitek Attack 3 Joystick. It is ambidextrous as the Airbus stick is. Comfy for left handing. Add to that a 3 lever Saitek Quadant and you have an even better Airbus setup as you have a third lever for flaps. Better yet a CH Quadrant and now you have axis for speed brake also and two more throttle for A340. Just saying for only a little more $$$ you could have a much more flexible setup if you aren't too set on physical appearance.

The detents are really appealing, and to some extent the TOGA button where it belongs. Beyond just Airbus flying, the detents fit well with a lot of regional/business jet setups and even the condition levers on the Dash 8. I’d love to not have to look at some on screen indication or at the throttle itself to see when I move from one range to another. It’s a bit of an immersion killer. I have a good and flexible setup already. I’ve got a Honeycomb yoke and 2 Saitek quadrants with the Bravor throttle on preorder. So Boeing’s and general flexibility are well covered. And I have a Thrustmaster Warthog stock and throttle with the additional Hornet grip...so I’ve got a good stick. Eric Szczesniak
October 8, 20205 yr What sim do you use? CH. Throttle has detects. With CH Software you activate the buttons at the rear of the lever slots. Then they show up in FS Control options and you can assign reverse thrust to them. The Airbus throttles are likely to be the same way. The detente are physical in any control. There needs to be an electrical interface before the sim can use them.

There needs to be an electrical interface before the sim can use them. I fly mostly P3D 4.5 with some dabbling in MSFS while it matures. Based on the marketing, the Thrustmaster throttles will have a lockout reverse detent, which appears similar to the Saitek and CH. Except, per prototype, you have to lift the levers to unlock the gate to get in to reverse range. I suspect these will operate as buttons. But the real unique point is they’re advertised to have the climb, FLEX, and TOGA detents along the positive linear axis. This is what’s unique and what I want. It appears these are simply physical detents and the simulator will simply read the linear axis position. A large number of RJs, biz jets, and of course Airbusses, use this or a very similar arrangement of detents to manage takeoff and climb thrust. In the sim, to know if you’ve engaged the detent, you need to look at the EICAS or TQ since there’s no physical feedback. I’d like to have that feedback. It would also be nice on the Majestic Dash 8 to use for beta/600/850/900 RPM condition levels. Eric Szczesniak
October 9, 20205 yr That locking lever is a nice touch. I don't know if the Honeycomb BravevQuadrent will even have that. I have seen jet handle mods for CH and Saitek but they don't have the physical reverse lever. Would be useful to me to even though piston twins and king airs are my favorites. I like the pistons because of the engine management needed throughout the flight regime. Would like to try the different A2A models. They really have it down. Maintain it or break it modeling. Cool.
