Good that Asobo was listening to us, and also was intelligent enough to realize that having the community help them test before they release a patch, can lead to more stable patches with less bugs (hopefully, less "show stopper" bugs).  Here is what Asobo said about the pre-release testing with help from the community for patches:

It will take them a little time to get it setup, but once it is setup, hopefully they can keep a pre-release testing team made up of community members for every patch.

It should be like X-Plane does or other developers normally do, the beta before the "official" update, and if you want take it or wait.
