Seems when landing the heavies the elevator does very little if nothing...I can crank the trim full up and nothing..makes it interesting but dicey. Is there an auto setting I am missing...I turned all pilot aids off and control set to Modern..the small planes all have good elevator on slow down for landing and only the airliners are doing this...

I am finding that the axis sensitivity require a good understanding as well as the fact that one sensitivity level may or may not work on a particular aircraft.  I don't have fSUIPC, which in other sims, allows for aircraft specific sensitivity settings.

My suggestion is to start with the heavy and adjust the elevator sensitivity to the full 100%.

This is the maximum. Also, make sure that there's no dead zone set.

From here on, it's a matter of becoming increasingly more familiar.

I've flying the a320 successfully-- with minor limitations due to my unfamiliarity with the systems and aircraft.
