I sure am looking forward to carrying on!

I was just thinking today about how much I'm looking forward to carrying on flying in MFS!

Even though everyone knows there are imperfections and a list of items being worked by the devs, none of them really impact my use of the sim to any worthwhile extent and I'm up to about 60 hours of flying time, having slowly worked my way West across the USA through all manner of live weather and now lodged safely at KORS before embarking across the border to the Great White North.  It has been a GREAT trip!

In that time I have become familiar with (only) all the single-engine prop planes in the Premie Deluxe Cheeseburger package, leaving many more to be explored, and have really enjoyed the first payware aircraft release that I've bought for this sim (Carenado Mooney, natch).

On top of that I'm running on a system I originally built in 2015, thanks to having selected a good CPU (I'd name it but I hear tell we're not supposed to make H/W posts here) although I've upgraded my video card and RAM over the years.  On that note, the RAM upgrade was instrumental in curing an occasional CTD issue I'd run into with another sim that I swore up and down had to do with that software - after troubleshooting for months and running memory checks that were inconclusive, I upgraded to more, faster RAM just to get rid of some FPS bottlenecking in VR mode in that sim, and wouldn't you know it, the CTD's stopped occurring in that sim for good.  Here in MFS the only CTD I've had is the one time I pressed the "V" key to bring up the VFR map after the 1.9.3 patch was installed - then I remembered reading the patch notes.   D'OH!

Now I'm ready to work my way up through the twin-engine and turboprop aircraft, with the hopes that somewhere here in the near future my next payware opportunity will be the Milvis Cessna 310, a plane I've admired for decades - I have a nice 16 x 24 back and white "technical representation" of that plane that I'd drawn years ago as a young teen learning drafting & illustrating.  It's realy cool when a sim does such a great job of reinvigorating past interests... I'm thinking that will be my ride for a RTW trip if the default Baron doesn't blow my skirt up (or even of it does)... should be a hoot!

So all things considered it's been a total gas so far and I'm looking forward to much more - BRING IT ON!
