MFS 2020 CTD

Featured Replies

Good afternoon,

I've been getting several CTD's over the past few days in FS2020.  The following entry is displayed in Event Viewer:

Faulting application name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5f6cce4b
Faulting module name: RenoirCore.WindowsDesktop.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5f6b4c44
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000000000005184b
Faulting process id: 0x4650
Faulting application start time: 0x01d69e70a4e85f31
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.9.3.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\FlightSimulator.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.9.3.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\RenoirCore.WindowsDesktop.dll
Report Id: fd719a71-da2a-42d7-9c7e-450b3f2c4ea8
Faulting package full name: Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.9.3.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
Faulting package-relative application ID: App

I have never heard of the faulting module name in this error, and I can't seem to find it in the CTD Guide.  What is the problem here?

The exception code is generic (google it) but may indicate a memory issue.

I have moved this to the Crash to Desktop forum.

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!
