October 19, 20205 yr I have read all the comments that I can find and read all the manuals as well as Utube videos. It appears that I have Reality XP GNS 530 and 430 installed correctly in my X-Plane 11 setup. However, having said that, I have tried for many hours and days to do two things: 1. Replace the X-Plane G530/G430 GPS units in my C172 and B58. 2. Pop out the GNS windows with no bezels...just the screens so I can use them in Air Manager. I do have the RealityXP.GNS.ini files in the respective airplane folders. I am trying to keep it simple by using the Laminar Research C172SP and B58. I tried to follow the B58 tutorial in the Reality XP manual but have had no luck. Example...CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+SPACE does nothing. I assume this was written for Windows 10 which I am using. Also, I cannot a GNS 530W 1 configuration panel. And Malwarebytes says I have no files quarantined. Windows security also seems to be OK. I know I am close to getting this done but I must admit that I need help. Thanks to anyone willing to take this on. Alex
October 20, 20205 yr Author I do have an update to the help request above. I now have the B58 open with the airplane instrument panel GPS 530 window showing the Reality XP GNS 530W. However, 1. most of the buttons and knobs don't work, 2. the popout window pops out but with the bezel ( I want no bezel) and none of the knobs and buttons work here either. Can anyone help me refine this? Ultimately I want to place the popout in Air Manager and I think it will work if I can get these two problems solved. I have a feeling it should be an easy fix from here for someone who knows. Thanks, Alex
October 20, 20205 yr Author Correction. The knobs and buttons do work on the GNS popout window but not on the instrument GPS unit.
October 20, 20205 yr Hi, You're making good progress, thank you for sharing! If I understand correctly you've managed to configure the GNS displaying in the 3D cockpit where the stock GPS was displaying isn't it? If this is the case and you'd like to use the 3D buttons and knobs around the screen, you'd have to enable the "Use Simulator GPS Commands" RXP GNS setting. In effect, the 3D elements are hard-coded to use the stock GPS commands and this setting makes the RX GNS intercepting the command for its own use instead.

I knew I was close but no cigar. Now I will try the GNS530/GNS430 on the Cessna 172. I assume all of this works on the Coronado and REP aircraft as well. Thank you again so much for your reply. Alex
October 23, 20205 yr Author Hi Again, I really hate to be back with another problem, but I have tried for now this the fourth day with a related problem to the above. The B55 I got working following the tutorial in the manual except for missing that step to check "Use Simulator GPS Commands" RXP GNS setting. Now I am trying to configure the GNS 530 and the GNS 430 to run on the Laminar C172SP. The GNS 430 (which is not the Master) appears to be fine and works with the knobster and touch screen as advertised. However, the top unit (Master) GNS 530 has many different screens as I keep changing the .ini file trying various settings. At the present time it has a blank black screen with a red GNS_530_1 printed lower left screen. I assume it is trying to tell me I have some incorrect values in the [GNS_530_1] section. I used the same method to determine the screen position as I did for the GNS 430 on this c172SP and B55 GNS 530. Again, I know I am close, but this should not be so difficult. I know I am getting old, and I can still fly a plane, but I am begining to believe this Reality XP is not for the faint of heart. Could I impose, please again? One clue that might help is that when I go in the Plugins menu and put the mouse over the GNS2, the resulting window lights up completely. When I put the mouse over GNS1, only the "GNS 530 1" lights up, plus the "Reset Window", and dots beside "GNS 530 1", "Master Device", and "Popout Window". To give you an idea of my numbers that might mean something to you, here are my two sets obtained from the Panel_Preview.png: For the GNS 530: frame.rect = 0,1024,522,392 For the GNS 430: frame.rect = 522,1024,431,241 Can you tell what I need to do with this information or I can supply what ever is needed. Date of purchase for both is July 31 2020. So I went to the F1 website and successfully reactivated both. Three months seems a short time to have to reactivate software. Anyway, it didn't do any good. I have no idea what is going on but I am getting quite discouraged spending hours just trying to figure out that F1 web site. In any case this most likely indicated you've installed the software but the license authentication failed. Please make sure to run the e-commerce installer, enter your F1 account credentials then press the REINSTALL button.
October 25, 20205 yr Author Sorry I did not get back yesterday but I had a computer problem which totally confused me. But I am back up and running now and hope to get this resolved. I will try to explain as clear as possible without being wordy. Let me be clear...I paid for the software and have a license for each of the GNS 530 and GNS 430 units dated July 31 2020. The situation: In the B55 which has only the 530 on the panel, your GNS 530W pops up in what I would think the normal way except for the Invalid Software problem. The X-Plane 11 menu Plugin drop down menu window is normal with all items bright white. In the C172SP, the instrument panel has both the 530 and the 430. Your GNS 430 installs as in what I would think a normal way but the 530 shows no evidence of Reality XP. The X-Plane 11 Plugin drop down menu window shows normal with all items bright white for the GNS 430 but for the GNS 530 just the Reset Window item is bright white. In both the B55's 530 and the C172sp'S 430, I get the yellow "MSG" light on the respective unit. Pressing the MSG button, I get the following message on the unit's screen: RXP License runtime expires in a few minutes stop using this product and contact your vendor RXP Invalid License software license invalid In a few minutes I get the following on the unit's screen: Reality Software Expired or Invalid I would like to get this problem solved first and then the GNS 530 problem. I don't know if the two problems are tied together, but I don't think so. I think I ran the reinstaller Friday and got a positive feedback for each of the two units, but maybe the installer is separate. I will try again and see if I can figure out how to do it.
