Advice on new PC for MSFS2020

Recommended Posts

I have always built my own computers but as time goes by, have lost a little confidence in getting the right choice.  Any advice would be welcome.  I hope each component fits the other components to provide a solid machine based around Microsofts recommended requirements but also minimizing the cost to around £400. I shall be using my current hard drives, case and power supply.

MSI Radeon RX 570 ARMOR 8GB OC GDDR5 Graphics Card

AMD Ryzen 5 2600X AM4 Processor with Wraith Spire Cooler

MSI AMD B450M-A PRO MAX AM4 mATX Motherboard

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (1 x 16GB) DDR4 2400 DIMM Memory

Thanks for any help

Rob

You will need dual channel memory with the Ryzen.  Look for 2x8gb of at least 3200mhz stuff

See if you can somehow squeeze your budget a bit, and change the 570 for a GTX 1660 super

P3D v4.5 MSFS2020 Hisense 50" 4K TV

Ryzen 5800X, 32gb DDR 3600mhz, MSI B550 PRO VDH WiFi, MSI 6900XT Z Trio, Gammaxx L360, 1TB NVMe Boot/FS2020 Drive, 1TB NVMe P3D Drive, 1Tb Crucial SSD Storage Drive, Saitek Yoke, Pedals, Radio Panel, Switch Panel, 2 x FiPs

Are you using this purely for gaming? If yes maybe go with the 3300X rather than the 2600X? It's got 2 less cores than the 2600X but it delivers better gaming performance generally. It also has a slightly higher clock/boost speed which might help with MSFS.

One option could be:

3300X £114
B450 £65
GTX 1660S £220
16GB RAM £65
Total £464
