November 6, 20205 yr I read a post in another forum about a gauge packaged in the GNS-430 file called the GPS-400 which is a GPS only navigator similar the Bendix's KLN-94. I do recall seeing it in the panel Assistant drop down but in aircraft that have a basic KLN-94 type gps there is no auto detect for the assistant to find and replace it with a GPS-400. How could I use the Assistant to install that and without it how can I find the exact GPS-400 gauge identity to do it manually? Thanks.
November 6, 20205 yr Hi, The assistant is only detecting similar devices in the panel based on heuristics. Therefore you're right it won't find any KLN devices. It is easy to manually edit the panel.cfg file in any case, replacing the KLN gauge instance with the RXP GNS gauge instance instead. Gauge file is: rxpGNS2 Gauge name is: GPS_400_1 or GPS_400_2 For example: gauge00=rxpGNS2!GPS_400_1, x, y, w, h (nothing too fancy about gauge names either, other models are GNC_420_#, GNS_430_#, GPS_500_#, GNS_530_#)
November 18, 20205 yr Author I did manage to get GPS 400 installed in Friendly Panels Mooney Bravo Meggit KLN94 panel. Works like the GNS versions. Add additional functionality to what is an old model.
