November 9, 20205 yr Hi, I have a problem with FSXWX, or I think it is the problem. I am running Windows 8 and FSX acceleration. recently FSX stops working and goes mack to the "free flight" page. this is usually after about an hour or so. I am also running Worldwide Virtual Acars at the same time and PMDG aircraft. this started after using updating to the new version of FSXWX 1.6.3 which was mandatory as the earlier versions wont work with their new server "apparently". the version 1.6.3 worked for a while but now these issues. I have the latest .next, FSUIPC (free version) I tried the following. Ran without Acars but with FSXWX and PMDG and it crashed. Ran it with just Acars and PMDG and all was OK. I tried this with PMDG 744, 777, and 738 and had all the same issues. I tried the UIAutomationCore.dll 18000 version and the 16386 version but to no avail. So the next thing that i did was to install a new HDD into my PC installed Windows 10 Pro and duel booted my PC. A fresh installation of FSX and Acceleration. loaded my SA scenery, as well as PMDG and got the same issues. did all the above tests but to no avail. has anyone had similar issues and maybe rectified the issues? Regards Steve
November 13, 20205 yr Hi Steve, I haven't used FSXWX for a number of years, so can't really comment specifically about your problem. I think that if I had a problem with it (an older version), then it was that the program stopped downloading or freezing, or something of that nature. I saw a comment about turning off 'Volumetric Fog' & there could be other settings such as amount of weather stations (radius) that FSXWX is required to receive data from that might be causing some conflict with FSX handling it. You could look at your FSXWX settings again to see whether there is any difference in your flights after turning some settings down. When I went to the FSXWX Forum (https://www.fsxwx.com/forum.htm), there was one post similar to yours but he had an Error Code show up: Error HRESULT: 0xC000014B. Have you checked in your Event Viewer > Custom Views > Admin Events, whether an error code shows up at the time of an FSX crash? Otherwise, I would suggest trying out a similar weather program by Hanse Coders, if for nothing else, to see whether your FSX responds negatively to it as well. Their Site: https://www.fsrealwx.de/index.php Now, they only show their latest offering (FSrealWX 3.0), which is a try for 30 days & then buy. There is also a Lite version hidden in their Archives, which is free without conditions. Or, if you still want a slightly better version (I use this one), FSRealWXPro, this no longer appears on their Site, but I have the .exe file with me. Just PM me with an email address & I can send it out to you. Hope something works out for you & apologies in delaying my reply as I just couldn't work out what was going on at your end. Chris
November 14, 20205 yr Author Thanks Chris. I also get the HRESULT: 0xC000014B error. I run all the programs in Admin mode and I also closed all the background programs/processes (mostly adobe Photoshop......) still with no glory. I have sent you my email address. thanks kindly Steve
November 25, 20205 yr Hello. I have a similar problem with you. When descending with both PMDG 737 and 777. FSX quits without any error message. Problem occurs after 1-3 mins later after TOD. With the other payware aircrafts there is no problem. This only occurs with FSXWX 1.6.3 and the problem has begun with the version 1.6.3 as well. Did you find any solution ? Thanks in advance. (My Operating System is Windows 8.1)
