FSX not responding
Hi My system specs are: CPU: Intel Pentium Dual E2200 2.02 GHz LGA 775 Mother Board: P4M890 Ram: 3 GB Graphics: Nvidia Ge Force GT 520 PCI-E 2GB SDDR3 C Media PCI Audio HDD: HD1635SI ATA 1TB Direct X 11 Windows 7 Pro 32bit D-Link DFE 530TX PCI fast Ethernet adapter 500W PSU i have noticed that in task manager the task host uses 50% of the CPU, (this cant be normal?) also when i shut down there is always a program that needs to be closed but i always have to force the shutdown. i have started to delete some programs from my PC including FSX, with intentions to reinstall it. i will try running FS9 in the meantime until i get everything sorted out. unfortunately i deleted FSX before i could get a crash report, but i know that is said something like "App Hang X proc...... or something to that matter. not too sure how to use the event viewer Regards

FS9 freezing
Hi Mel I am using the NVidia GeForce GT520 PCI Express, 2GB DDR3.according to PC Wizard my driver is: nvd3dum.dll Ver 9.18.13.1106, description: NVidia WDDM D3D Driver Ver 311.06. I hope this helps. I would install the 64bit but I have already loaded all the 32bit drivers / software etc. and maybe a bit of a hassle reinstalling. Cheers Steve

FS9 freezing
Hi there all. ok, during the week-end I did a lot of testing and this is what I have: I disabled the media player sharing. disabled the AI traffic. Disables my AV. took the default fs9 B737-400 used the same flight plan from FACT to FAJS via the UZ2 jet way (the same one that freezes my PC) same scenery. same radio frequency's. no Akars.I did not run in full screen mode as I usually do, so I had the Sim 2/3rds the size of my monitor (20'Samsung LED)with task manager running to monitor my CPU and memory usage. All went ok. the CPU usage fluctuated between 52% and 64%. when on final to RNW 03R the CPU increased to 74%but not for long and went back to 62% when landed. the next test was pretty much the same only with the PMDG 737-800 on the active RNW at PAFA as suggested with all systems running (no AI, AV, Akars etc.)I left it there for about 30 minutes or so. no problems. I then took of and headed out at 120 Degrees at FL 350. I got 54% to 61% pretty much all the way. I flew until my fuel (which was full at start up) was almost at reserves. no problem. then I enabled my AI to 100% and I only got an increase to 71% fluctuating from 61%. I flew this for a while until I decided to try the next test. next test was PMDG 737-800 no AV, AI Akars etc. loaded the flight plan from FACT to FAJS. (this time in full screen mode) I was taxing to the take of runway and the system froze. a mere 20 minutes into the Sim. The next test was exactly the same only this time not in full screen mode and with task manager running. this time I had a successful flight all the way. again CPU fluctuated between 52% and 67%. almost to the end of my decent, not too far from the approach I enabled the AI to 50% with only a small increase of CPU usage to around 74%. Next I flew a filed plan with My Akars on, not in full screen with task manager running and no AI and AV. I had a successful flight. I will try again not in full screen, AI on, Akars on, AV off, task manager on. and see what happens. I ran out of valuable week-end time to do the whole test. from what I can see it seems as though the full screen mode is the issue, however surely running in non-full screen with desktop and task manager in background will demand more CPU processing? Best Steve

FS9 freezing
Hi Mel what happens is that once the cpu hits 100% (I have also noted that my memory usage is not high at this point) the flight Sim freezes, I do have sound but I think that is just a loop of the last sound of the engines prior to freezing. I have left is like that for maybe 30 minutes or so but it wont unfreeze and the cpu will not go below 100%. you are correct in saying that everything freezes. my mouse once moved will only see reaction on the cursor maybe 30 seconds or so later. I have tried to close the applications this way but cant. once I have fs minimized to desktop my cpu usage goes down to about 98% but then goes up again. Sort of fluctuates. inevitably I have to push the dreaded restart button so as to reboot. I hope this info helps you somewhat. I will download Procom as suggested and I will also try the other suggestions like disabling AI, fly with the default aircraft on the same route etc..... Cheers Steve

FS9 freezing
Hi Mel,I will do what both you and Harald have suggested. please forgive my ignorance, but what does "fs9.exe set-to large address aware and the boot.ini 3Gb patch in place" mean? as for FABL....yes it is part of the add-on scenery. I have the whole of South Africa add-on via Aeroworx scenery plus mesh, however this has always worked with no problem. I would gladly use a pay ware scenery add-on for SA if one could get one for fs9. I know NMG trading has a fair one for FSX. the problem is that they have stopped production of the fs9 scenery to which they now make some of the airports available for free download, but what is the use when it wont work with the Aeroworx mesh, and lets face it the generic mesh with fs9 sucks. pity that other well known commercial scenery developers have not bothered to do a SA package. I'm sure it would sell well here as the SA flight Sim community is quite large. Best, Steve Danke! yes when you work with Germans (no disrespect) you have to develop a good one ;-) Best, Steve

FS9 freezing
Hi Harald, yes you are correct in saying that. I will disable the AI over the week end and see fi that is the problem. I am using the same AI that I used on my XP Pro, but did not have any problems there. as for the German Behavior, kein Problem, ich bin daran gewöhnt Regards Steve

FS9 freezing
Hi, ok I have done the following. I removed all the add-ons from my fs9, uninstalled fs9. Reinstalled fs9 ran it. Installed the update to 9.1 and ran it. Installed FSUPIC 3.9. Installed my Aeroworx South African scenery and terrain mesh. Installed PMDG 737-800 aircraft. Installed various AI for SA. Ran the sim. Removed the FS9.cfg file. Restarted. I then planed a flight from Cape Town (FACT) to Johannesburg (FAJS). Everything went well the CPU on task manager showed CPU usage of around 40% (I also had my AV disabled and was running my ACARS) when I got to about 35nm SE of FABL (Bloemfontein) on the UZ2 Jet way the CPU jumped to 100% and froze. I restarted my PC did the same flight again and guess what; yup it froze in more or less the same place. I have checked the forums for this scenery and it does not look as though there is an issue with the scenery. My system is compiled of the following: Intel Pentium E2200MHz duel core 800MHz FSB (QDR), 3GB DDR SDRam, NVidia GeForce GT520 PCI-Express 2048GB DDR3 video card, Samsung SATA 1 TB HDD, 500W PSU. Windows 7 32bit SP1 and DirectX 11. I hope this info is useful. Regards Steve BTW I work for a German company here in South Africa, and I know what stubborn really is, however once you are on their side the are great people to work with. just have to learn the language better as our meetings start of in English and end up in heated German which leaves us twiddling our thumbs ;-)

FS9 freezing
Hi Melmost of the time my cpu fluctuates around 15% to 45% using normal applications. I ran my fs9 not using the REX & VA ACARS and I got only 30 to 40 seconds of flight time. it seem that when I run the fs9 on its own I get less flight time. I ran the other programs on their own and the cpu only went to 20% or more. What does the "oleacc.dll" do? and how does this help to increase performance? surely it is there for a reason? I have deleted it but no difference.

FS9 freezing
after looking at the event viewer I get the following from about the time and date this occurred. "Custom dynamic link libraries are being loaded for every application. The system administrator should review the list of libraries to ensure they are related to trusted applications". I don't know if this is the problem. BTW I am running Win 7 32 bit. Steve

FS9 freezing
Hi I am having problems with my FS freezing. I recently upgraded my OS from XP PRO to Win 7. when I am about an hour or so into my flight the system freezes, when I go into task manager it takes for ever but it shows that my CPU is running at 100%. I us my FS, REX, PMDG 737-800 and my VA ACARS programs. I never had problems with XP. is this a Win 7 issue? Steve

Maping T.Flight HotasX for PMDG
Hi i want to map the TOGA switch in the PMDG 747-400 for fs9 on my Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X joystick. i'm not too sure how to do this as the manual is not very helpful. Steve

Auto throttle
all worked well, took off perfectly. i did have other problems though, with my flight plan selected a SID via the FMC, no problems the aircraft followed the SID. but when i approached the STAR it took me right to the runway. obviously no too high as i am set for the aproach hight. if i have the ILS selected should the STAR not take me to the begining of the aproach run? Steve

Auto throttle
Hi. i am still new to the 737-800, and would like some help. i have programmed the FMC but when i take off i stall. i set RTO into position and depress the TOGA switch. i dont get the thrust that i need and then stall. should i select the auto throttle before i press the TOGA switch? i dont see any tutorals on take off. New Airports and AI Aircraft
Thanks all, got it right. looks good. what is the best FALE scenery. i use the aeroworx scenery but i dont think they have FALE for FS9. i am using the FALE by Juergen Seidel. Steve

New Airports and AI Aircraft
Ok i gave it a try, the problem is that FALE is not in the airports list. i can add it but im not sure what the string of digits are that preceed the ICAO code. it looks like coordinates but not sure. if so does anyone know what i should enter? Regards Steve

Clouds in FS9
I am using the default MS real weather. i believe sometime ago i installed some sort of 3rd party clouds, but i'm not sure. i have uninstalled FS9 many times over the years due to pc upgrades etc. the clouds on the ground look great, when i take off they are realistic, but when i get to a certain altitude lets say fl30000 the clouds become transparent and i can see the terain as if there are no clouds at all. when i desend the terain will slowly becom less transperant until i am back in the clouds. i never get to fly with the white blanket of clouds beneath me. the clouds look normal from below. Regards Steve

New Airports and AI Aircraft
Thanks!! i will give this a try

Clouds in FS9
when i download real weather and lets say there are heavy clouds, why is it when i get to a certain altitude the couds become transparent, as if they are not there?

New Airports and AI Aircraft
I am fairly new to this, would i need to remove the old FADN scenery? or could i still have both. how do you change the ICAO with TTools?
-
New Airports and AI Aircraft
just a question, if i were to install a new airport such as King Shaka International, will my downloaded ai aircraft fly to that airport? i have deleted the default MS aircraft in FS9 and run all the required AI aircraft that oporate in RSA. i have the feeling that should i install the airport it will be barron of AI aircraft.

missing SIDS and STARS
Thanks for the info, i found the best and only way that i could get it right was to download and install the 2.4 update. i then installed the 1203 airac and presto, all the latest Sids and satrs. thanks to everyone for their input, i can now fly in the present

missing SIDS and STARS
i am having problems with getting FSBuild to display certain SIDS and STARS. i have updated FSBuild with AIRAC Cycle 1203. i have generated the fsbuild nav data indexes in options, closed the program and restarted. the problem i am having is that when i create a plan i only get one SID for FAJS - HGV4A. i know that there are many more, so where are they? havs anyone else experianced this?
