November 16, 20205 yr [Note: It's well-known, without add-on sceneries, there is hardly anything to "see" in the FSX landscape. In the FSX past, most of us, have crossed vast distances across the world (low and high) without any perceptible scenery variation at all. Even though we may be flying the best of payware aircraft, this deficiency is severe. I realize the scenery developers have created excellent add-ons to make up for it, still to freely roam around the world and be able to see regional variations in scenery is a powerful reality of the new SIM. I also gather that a steady stream of local/airport specific (MSFS) enhancements, are, already, being actively and continually contributed to the SIM, many of these, as freeware. As an example, I'd recently seen, here, (tiny) Nepalese airport add-ons sceneries, quite beautifully recreated, around Lukla / Mt. Everest, on top of the default mountain scenery...a region I'm somewhat familiar with, from a (long-gone) RW visit. And, the best part, even if it's not me involved (and, even if it's me, I am not artistically inclined to create such scenery anyway ...🙂...), someone (else) has already thought of these little-known (Nepalese) airports...(that's the power of community mindset)...! Personally, being not a RW pilot, I admit, 99% of my interest and learning, in aviation, has been driven and nurtured by such community minded creations...!] Here, I'm following up a bit, on my earlier post, where I'd flown the Fokker-50 Turboprop from/to Kingston Airport (MKJP) Rwys. The airport scenery (received free by giveaway) was (yet) unexplored by me, and therefore had caught my attention for inclusion in the post. In any case, the fact that, some developer(s) had spent time to create additional immersion around (what would be otherwise an insipid and generic) SIM locale, prompted me to post a few more pictures of it, via this post, here... Hope you enjoy this brief tour (10 images) in and around the airport, and, at least, get a feel for the surroundings, without being there....For example, it was nice to be able walk up close (virtually, of course, with (guide) BOB...🙂...) and stand next to the (30/12) Rwy Threshold lighting markers, at the (interior-island facing) end of the Rwy, just near where, the wheels of my (virtual) F50 had, earlier, lifted off the tarmac (and also had touched down, on my return, in darkness...🙂...). Special Note on the last image (Lighthouses always appeal to me...):The Plumb Point Lighthouse, located on a narrow peninsular, near the entrance to Kingston Harbour next to Norman Manley International Airport, is an active 19th century heritage lighthouse. It helps guide ships into Kingston Harbour. Built in 1953, I read, the claim is that, in last 67 years, the light has gone out only once since inception, during the 1907 earthquake (and, during my image, here, of course,...🙂...)... [BTW, I recall a "Jamaica Day" or such from MSFS, not sure, though, if this (nice) Caribbean Airport has received any add-on love and attention...(will look)...] [Rwy26(MKJP)/Orbx(BOB)/REX]
