November 17, 200619 yr I added the default 777-300 from FS9 and now I get this message on startup and when switching planes. Anyone know how to fix this? If this has been discussed before can someone please direct me to the apropriate thread. P.S. The plane works fine in FSX just the error message is annoying. Thanks, Carlos
November 17, 200619 yr Hi Carlos,It sounds like you might have added some new repaints to the model?Check the aircraft.cfg of the plane. In it you will see several sections that look like:[fltsim.0]title=Boeing 777-300sim=Boeing777-300...Each of the lines that say [fltsim.x] should increase sequentially for each model (there should be no duplicates), and every line that starts with "title=" must be unique, again, there should be no duplicate titles. If you are trying to replace the default paints with other paints if you are using the default AI files, FS uses the title line to distinguish which paints to use. The so if you switch the titles of the default paints with the new paints, it'll use the new ones. See this thread for better instructions (I used the first method (not AITM) and it worked great. I now have real airlines with the default traffic.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...=5618&mode=fullThomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180 Tom Perry
November 17, 200619 yr Ok Carlos tried it this is what you will have to do. Go into the 777-300 main folder find the model folder change the mdl file to something like this.B777_3001.mdlThen add it to the model cfg file like this.[models]normal=B777_3001My problem was some of my AI planes were using the same mdl file model as the FS9 777-300 so changing it from B777_300.mdl to B777_3001.mdl then putting it in the model cfg worked. That should do it.
November 17, 200619 yr Author Sorry Carlos, but I don't believe changing the model file ID will help you eliminate this error message For example:Aircraft #1Model File ID: paibe462.mdlFirst [fltsim.0] title = entry: British Aerospace BAe 146-200 P-KitAircraft #2Model File ID: bae462_LOD.mdlFirst [fltsim.0] title = entry: British Aerospace BAe 146-200 P-KitFrom these two examples you can see that you have two different model file IDs but you have the exact same "title=" entries in both aircraft.cfg files. Note: These duplicate entries don't have to be in the same position in their respective text files. Changing the model file ID will not eliminate the error message. What you must do is change the "title=" entries so they are not the same. INMO this new feature is terrific. If you have an enormous amount of aircraft (especially AI aircraft)this keeps you from having duplicate texture references and duplicate texture sets throughout your FS system.fb
January 6, 200818 yr I hate to drum up a very old topic again, but i installed a 3rd party add-on (The Embraer Legacy) if FSX using their patches to bring my FS2004 one up to date. This started happening as I received the following messages after following their install to the tee with instructions:There are multiple objects with the same title name. They must have unique title names.PIC Legacy HouseaircraftfeelThere PIC LegacyThere are multiple objects with the same title name. They must have unique title names.PIC Legacy PTSCR - No eye-candy featuresaircraftfeelThere PIC LegacyI have, of course, assured that all of the above advice has been taken. There are no duplicate title entries in my aircraft.CFG file and, as i agree with the other poster, mdl names have nothing to do with this.It also puzzled me that this was the only addon to have the aircraft physically in an "aircraft" folder instead of having the FSX patch move it to ity's rightful place -- the Simobjects folder. **shrug** I won't touch it though because alteration of file structure for any add-on voids support, but i would like to know what else I can look at editing to fix this.Sorry if this was explained elsewhere, as this post appears to be over a year old, but this is the only post that comes up when searching this particular error.
